Mystery unlisted video drives speculation that Pokémon TCG Pocket is getting new immersive Ho-Oh and Lugia art this week

Mystery video drives speculation that Pokémon TCG Pocket is getting new immersive Ho-Oh and Lugia art soon

The official Pokémon channel has added a mystery, unlisted YouTube video to its Pokémon TCG Pocket playlist.

This has quickly led the community to speculate on what it could possibly be.

And one popular, albeit hopeful, theory is that new art will be unveiled for immersive three-star Ho-Oh and Lugia cards.

Fan art of Ho-Oh had been mistakenly traced over and used for two of the rarest cards in the Wisdom of Sea and Sky expansion.

Consequently, Pokémon Pocket developers removed stolen art from the immersive Ho-Oh and Lugia cards upon the expansion’s release.

What’s left on these cards is an awkward solution: the phrase “new art coming soon” on a colourful background.

The internet has unsurprisingly had a field day with these weird placeholders and grown attached to them.

But considering how much money some people have spent on the game, it’s only right that the art gets updated.

If this is what the unlisted video is for, the cards could have new art as soon as this week. Just a week since their release.

However, there are numerous other possibilities for what the video could be.

For starters, it could be about the Pokémon World Championships, which will take place between August 15th to 17th.

An in-game event to promote the tournament was announced for Pokémon GO just yesterday.

Pokémon TCG Pocket will have an open exhibition tournament at the event, but it won’t be an official competition.

It’s possible that cosmetic and promotional items for the World Championship will be announced for Pocket soon.

Blissey EX event coming to Pokémon TCG Pocket

Another possibility for the mystery video is the new Blissey EX event starting in Pokémon Pocket tomorrow.

It’s the usual solo player event in which players will use event stamina to battle the AI to gain promo packs.

The star of this promo is the brand-new Blissey EX card, which will be exclusive to the event and untradeable.

It has a monstrous 180 HP stat is one of the highest in the game; only Venosaur EX has more at 190.

Blissey EX’s attack costs four energy, doing 100 damage and gives a coin flip chance to heal my 60 to make it very good at stalling.

With just over 12% odds, chasing the card will feel like playing at UK online casinos, but it should be very doable.

The new promo packs also feature alternate art of the Kanghaskhan and Houndoom cards from Wisdom of Sea and Sky.

There’s also a new Horsea, which deals 10 damage to any of your opponents’ Pokémon and a new Chinchou, which has a coin flip chance to switch in an opponent’s benched Pokémon.
