LEC 2025 Summer Split groups have been released, outlining the pathways for teams to qualify for Worlds 2025. Teams will have to progress to the playoffs and reach the top three to qualify for League of Legends Worlds 2025.
Group 1 features Movistar Koi, Karmine Corp, GIANTX, Vitality, and the new LEC addition, Natus Vincere.
Group 2 features G2, Fnatic, Heretics, BDS, and SK Gaming.
Needless to say, the groups are spicy. Fnatic will face their traditional nemeses in G2, now with newly acquired Korean midlaner, Yun ‘Poby’ Sung-won.
Meanwhile new LEC franchise, Natus Vincere (Na’Vi), will get a baptism of fire, playing against some of European League’s biggest names in Movistar Koi, Karmine Corp, Vitality, and GIANTX.
The Ukrainian organisation bought out Rogue’s spot, entering League of Legends’ top European division for the first time in the storied org’s history.
LEC 2025 Summer Split format
LEC 2025 Summer Split groups will feature best-of-three contests, with each team playing their group opposition once. Only one team from each group will be eliminated, with the top two from each group entering the upper bracket of the playoffs.
Third and Fourth teams from each group enter the “Cross Play Decider,” which determines whether they reach Lower Bracket Round 1. All playoff matches, including the Cross Play Decider, will be best-of-five contests.
The LEC 2025 Summer Playoffs will decide the three LEC spots qualifying for Worlds 2025, so they are guaranteed to be hotly contested as teams vie for attendance at League’s most prestigious and historic event.
LEC 2025 Summer Split will begin August 2 at Riot’s Berlin Arena, with Summer Finals running September 26-28 in Madrid’s Caja Mágica, an arena with a capacity of approximately 12,000 for the LEC Finals.

NNO Cup Season 3
Vitality and SK Gaming are certifiably warmed up as the LEC teams will contest the Grand Final of the invitational €10,000 tournament, NNO Cup Season 3. The roster featured the NLC’s Nord Esports, as well as LFL’s BK ROG Epsports, who recently contested a semi-final of EMEA Masters against Los Ratones.
Speaking of which, Los Ratones’s top and jungle combo, Baus and Veija, played in a mixed team labelled “Dinosaurus Rex” in the tournament, but didn’t manage to get a win against the tough competition.
Vitality will play SK in the Grand Final on July 26.
The teams will be hoping to bring good form into the LEC. With the region struggling relative to China, Korea, and even the Pacific region at MSI, G2 gave EMEA some hope at EWC, but whether their positive fourth-place showing at EWC was a meaningful one remains to be seen.
With the rest of the G2 roster under pressure to provide more support for EU legend, Rasmus ‘Caps’ Borregaard, LEC Summer will be a crucial split to judge where G2 actually sit.
