Marvel Snap has announced its Golden Gauntlet Championship Series, an open esports circuit, allowing players to compete across the globe in hopes of qualifying for its Golden Gauntlet Worlds event in November.
The Marvel-themed mobile game, first released in 2022, is entering the world of esports for the first time with its circuit, which will be supported by livestreams on the official Twitch and YouTube platforms of the game.
Featuring three regional open qualifiers, the event’s focus is to enable its community to participate, including UK players who will have a chance to be part of the action during the third qualifier, scheduled for October.
In a statement as part of the announcement, Aland Failde, SVP of Marketing at developer Second Dinner summed up the ambition of the circuit, stating, “This is our chance to empower our community and give back to the fans and creators that have supported us for years. The tournament series is about giving players the space and spotlight to celebrate the game they love.”

The event isn’t the first competitive event from Marvel Snap, with a Creator Clash event being held in the UK in June 2023. The event featured British and Irish content creators playing in Manchester for a $5,000 prize pool led by streamers Kawa and Raven (aka RavenCasts), who is a caster in various card games, including Pokemon TCG.
Marvel Snap Golden Gauntlet Format and Schedule
The Golden Gauntlet Championship Series features three regional open-qualifiers that qualify players to the Golden Gauntlet Worlds event in November.
UK players will have to wait until the EU-focused qualifier in October in order to participate. The format will be identical in all regions, with prizes for the Top 16 participants and players with a 5W-1L record to better qualify for Worlds.
The format for the first event, focussed on APAC & Western NA is as outlined below:
Golden Gauntlet Open 1 will take place on August 9th, 2025 at 5:00 PM PST

- Registration: July 31st
- Player cap: 1024
- Format: Six rounds of Swiss – Top 16 single-elimination
- Prizes for Top 16
- All players finishing 5-1 or better qualify for the Golden Gauntlet Worlds

The Golden Gauntlet Worlds event is scheduled for November 8th, 2025 at 8:00 AM PST. It is the grand final, where the top performers from all qualifiers compete.
