A football team of esports industry members is being entered into a livestreamed football tournament as part of a day of networking.
The social networking event will host a 6-a-side football tournament in the day and a poker tournament at night as part of iGB L!ve’s London iGaming Week in July.
A team, called Esports United FC, has been created by GSE Group co-founder Sam Cooke and is open to all professionals in the esports scene.
The team already has members from GiantX, BLAST.tv, and The Esports Radar.
Cooke helped open the Cyberlabs Gaming Box inside Charlton Athletic’s The Valley football stadium and joked he is trying to bring Esports United to the ground as well.
The football tournament is being hosted by iGB L!VE and the LATAM Media Group and is the first London LMG Futbol Experience.
This will be the 14th edition of the LMG event, with previous editions hosted in Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, Mexico, Peru and Spain.
The London event will take place on Friday, July 4th, at the BallerZ Dome located within the Bluewater shopping centre.
BallerZ is a multimillion-pound, 30,000 square-foot dome, which combines football with gaming and entertainment with a SkillZone area, which features seven football fitness games.
It also features a tunnel and walkout area as well as piped-in crowd noises to offer an immersive football experience.
There will be free transportation to take people to and from the ExCel London as well as courtesy shuttles to and from Ebbsfleet International Station.
The livestreamed football tournament will be played on a 5G pitch and will be officiated by fully qualified referees.
There will be numerous networking opportunities throughout the day, including lunch, a cocktail reception where prizes will be handed out, and a post-match poker tournament.
While you can’t bet on the results of this tournament, you can bet on esports events with the best UK esports betting sites.
In my seven years of esports writing, I’ve introuduced esports coverage to newspapers, interviewed some of the biggest names in the industry, and driven viewers mad with the puns in my YouTube scripts. I’m most proud of the latter.
