EA FC 26 might see Bayern Munich’s Allianz Arena return

Bayern Munich's Allianz Arena

One of the most iconic football stadiums in the world might be returning in the next EA Sports FC game.

The EA FC franchise hasn’t featured Bayern Munich’s Allianz Arena since FIFA 19 because Konami secured the license for eFootball (previously PES).

However, an official statement from Konami has revealed Bayern Munich’s licenses are being removed from eFootball 2025.

This means the club name, badge, official kits, and Allianz Arena are all being removed from the game from June 26th.

With Konami losing the license, most are expecting EA Sports to pick it up in time for the upcoming EA Sports FC 26.

Though they may be tight on time as an apparent leak suggests EA Sports FC 26 will have a strangely early release date.

EA FC 25 has over 120 different authentic football stadiums including 15 of the 18 Bundesliga team’s home grounds.

However, the Allianz Arena, which hosted this year’s Champions League final between Paris Saint Germain and Inter, is not one of them.

Since FIFA 20, Bayern Munich have had to play at made up Sanderson Park in the EA games no it’s 39k capacity is nowhere near the Allianz’s 75k seats.

It’s hard to say whether the Allianz will be in FC 26 or not but the console would look stunning on the latest generation of consoles.

What are the biggest licensed football stadiums missing from EA FC?

Despite EA Sports’ huge collection of authentic stadiums and licenses collected over the years, EA FC 25 missed some of the most famous football stadiums in the world.

The most glaring ommission is Barcelona’s Camp Nou.

The 105k seater is Europe’s biggest stadium yet has appeared in an EA game since FIFA 16 due to Konami’s ongoing relationship with the Spanish club.

Most of Italy’s major stadiums have also been missing as EA has struggled with Serie A licenses over the years.

The famous San Siro, shared by AC Milan and Inter, was shockingly removed after EA FC 24 after both clubs signed deals with Konami.

The Stadio Olimpico shared by Roma and Lazio has been missing from EA titles since FIFA 20 and Napoli’s Stadio Diego Armando Maradona has not featured in the games.

However, both Roma and Napoli signed deals for EA for FC 25 which means both stadiums are likely to feature in the next game.

Closer to home, Scotland and Queen’s Park’s Hampden Park is one of the world’s oldest stadiums yet has never been included in the games due to EA’s focus on league football.
