Red Bull Sim Racing has announced the signing of Luke McKeown to its roster.
The British sim racer joins the team having clinched the FIA F4 Esports Championship in 2024. He clinched the title with three wins in eight races, to finish 19 points clear of Spaniard Alejandro Sanchez.
McKeown is also fresh off his highest finish in the 2025 iRacing Porsche Esports Supercup standings on iRacing, where he finished fourth.
Red Bull Sim Racing confirmed the news in posts on social media platforms X and Instagram.
The news comes just two weeks after McKeown confirmed he would be leaving the Apex Racing Team.
McKeown wrote in a message on social media: “It is official, that I am leaving Apex Racing Team
“After almost 3 years in the team, I can’t thank everyone in the team enough for the great memories but also great results on track together.
“Wishing the team good luck in the future and a big thank you for the great time in the team.”
Following the news of his move, McKeown said as per Traxion: “I always like a challenge, and my motivation is to win races and championships, and I thought I could do that better somewhere else.”
McKeown has eyes on competing in the F4 Global Esports Championship this year. Alongside iRacing special events starting with the Nurburgring 24 Hours next weekend, McKeown also has eyes on competing in the Indycar iRacing Pro Series should it return in 2025.
Red Bull Sim Racing’s presence in esports
Red Bull Racing is one of the biggest teams in Formula One, with Max Verstappen winning the last four drivers’ championships for the team.
The team also has a big presence in esports with its sim racing team.
Jarno Opmeer, fresh off his move from Mercedes to Red Bull for 2025, clinched a record third F1 Sim Racing Drivers’ World Championship.
He clinched three victories over the 12-race season and won the title by 19 points to Williams Sim Racing driver Ismael Fahssi.
Opmeer and team-mate Frederik Rasmussen also helped Red Bull clinch the constructors’ championship.
Meanwhile, Formula One world champion Verstappen also has a big presence in esports.
Verstappen liked the news that Luke McKeown will join the Red Bull Sim Racing team on Instagram.
The four-time champion is part of Red Bull Racing’s ‘Team Redline’ project – which is one of the most successful sim racing teams in the world.
He also recently featured in a Team Falcons announcement after they confirmed Red Bull sponsorship.
