Marvel Rivals has officially released information for its Season 2.5 update with new hero, Ultron, coming to the game along with a limited time mode and much much more.
What is included in new Marvel Rivals Season 2.5 update?
Ultron will enter Marvel Rivals Season 2.5 when the update launches on May 20th, with the playable hero already previously teased by developers in Dev Vision Vol. 06.
Despite being one of the most infamous villains from the Marvel universe, Ultron will play the role of a flying strategist in Rivals who can support teammates with healing powers as well as protecting with the use of his energy beams.
The new update hasn’t just brought a new hero into the game though and there are plenty of other exciting improvements including a refresh for team-up abilities.
Team-up’s give players a huge advantage on the battle field and there will be six new abilities with the season 2.5 update. While there are new additions to the team-up abilities, “Ammo Overload,” “Cheering Charisma,” and “Symbiote Bond” will all be removed from the game.
Team-up abilities update:
- Venom shares his symbiote with Jeff, letting them connect to heal allies mid-fight.
- Punisher upgrades Black Widow’s gun into a piercing laser beam.
- Luna Snow gives Hawkeye an ice arrow that stuns and does more damage with distance.
- Rocket and Penny now combine tech to upgrade spider nests and drop healing items.
- Ultron and Iron Man combine their tech to fire lasers that both heal allies and harm enemies.
- Storm and Jeff unleash a storm-formed Jeffnado that does damage over time.
New limited-time mode
Along with the Ultron hero coming to the game, there is also set to be a new limited-time game mode called ‘Ultron’s Battle Matrix Protocol’.
In a slight change up to the traditional Rivals mode, the limited-time event will involve more solo tactics. In this mode, players will select a hero before upgrading them with traits to battle against other players.
All hero abilities are turned up in the Ultron-themed mode, making for a much more action packed match that has chaos from start to finish.
The season 2.5 update comes at a welcome time for the Marvel Rivals community, with the game receiving backlash lately for a professional player’s sexist and transphobic remarks in-game.
