Professional Valorant player florescent accused of sexual assault

Former Apeks player and two-time VCT Game Changers champion, Ava ‘florescent’ Eugene, has recently been accused of coercion and sexual assault on social media.

Supernova x Pals player, Marceline ‘karie’ Carson, posted a full document on Twitter that explained the accusations made against florescent.

karie claimed that the post was made on behalf of a fellow player, who has remained anonymous at this time under the alias of ‘Brick’.

The document contained serious accusations referring to a particular incident on January 3rd 2024, alongside purported screenshots of private messages from Brick after the incident.

florescent has since denied the allegations and said to have begun legal action, according to their Twitter post.

Further stating that she’d been advised not to share any evidence for now.

It should be noted that the individuals involved are currently around eighteen years old and therefore minors at the time of the incident.

Initial accusations

The accusations were first made last weekend on karie’s Twitter account.

Attached was a document which recounted the events between florescent and Brick, according to karie after conversations with Brick.

Therefore, it should be noted that all events are from a third-party perspective that is close to Brick.

florescent’s response

Later that day, florescent responded to the accusations and denied all the claims referring to sexual assault.

However, she didn’t comment on any of the other claims or the provided materials due to being asked to refrain for their safety.

Their Twitter account has fallen silent and has not posted since their response on Saturday.

Brick’s statement

On the following day, karie posted on Twitter once again with Brick’s account of the events alongside providing further context and evidence from their perspective.

Brick reiterated the events of January 3rd in a similar manner to the original document.

To corroborate their claims about florescent’s character, she shared conversations and accounts from their previous partners with unverified screenshots of private messages.

Riot’s statement

Late yesterday evening, Riot Games made a statement on the allegations through the Valorant Champions Tour Twitter account.

However, this statement has come under scrutiny from the community for its vague messaging regarding the serious accusations.

Further adding that Riot Games has acted aggressively with similar situations in the past.

Shopify Rebellion players respond

The players of Shopify Rebellion’s female team have also responded to the allegations, having been former teammates with the accused for two years.

Each player posted a shared statement across their accounts, which condemned florescent’s alleged actions.

They also went on to support Brick and the other victims, claiming that the ‘pattern of manipulation’ suggests that similar incidents have occurred but not been made public yet.

They ended their statement by imploring people to refrain from commenting about the wider impact on the women’s Valorant esports scene at this time.

One player, Sarah Simpson, expanded upon this statement with a response of their own.

Also claiming florescent was emotionally manipulative in relationships as first suggested in the second document by Brick.

What is happening right now?

While florescent is currently on hiatus from competitive play, she is still contracted with Apeks and has not been suspended or banned as of writing.

The team which competes in VCT EMEA has not made a statement as of yet, despite one of their players being involved.

In the heated debates on social media, some fans have used the allegations as reasoning for not allowing transwomen in female esports events. Prompting karie to respond in kind.

As of writing, there has been no confirmation of any further action having been taken, outside of florescent seeking personal legal assistance.
