Tundra Esports receive invite for Dota 2 tournament The International 2025

The International Tundra Esports

London-based Dota 2 team Tundra Esports has earned a direct invite to The International 2025, set to take place in September.

Tundra is one of eight teams revealed by Valve to take part in the largest Dota 2 tournament in the game’s esports calendar.

Reacting to the news on X, Tundra tweeted: “We’re honoured to be invited to TI. Battling it out with the best for the Aegis once more. We’ll see you in Hamburg!”

They are joined by other top-tier teams, including former champions Team Liquid and Team Spirit.

Tundra Esports will be vying against those teams and more for the coveted Aegis of Champions.

The International 2025, will feature 16 elite international teams in total, competing in Hamburg, Germany from September 4th to 14th. The final three Playoff days will be hosted at Hamburg’s Barclays Arena.

For the tournament’s 14th edition, Valve introduced a new format which includes a five-round Swiss stage and only eight teams in the Playoffs.

The International 2025 invited teams including Tundra Esports

Tundra Esports will face tough competition at The International 2025, going off the list of teams who have been invited.

According to Valve’s press release, this year’s direct invites comprise rosters that have “risen above the rest” during the 2025 Dota 2 season.

Tundra Esports is a previous champion after winning The International back in 2022. It was a historic victory for Tundra, as it was their first international win and the first ever for an esports organisation back in the UK.

Their victory earned them an $8.5m (£6.4m) share of the prize pool.

Tundra also emerged victorious at Blast Slam 2 in Copenhagen back in February – receiving $400,000 (£300,000) from their participation and win.

Their roster consisted of dyrachyo, bzm, 33, Saska, Whitemon and coach MoonMeander. They defeated Gaimin Gladiators – who also has received an invite for The International – in the grand final.

In addition to former champions, the invited teams include underdogs who have shone at major tournaments this year.

Serbian outfit Parivision clinched the ESL One Raleigh trophy in April, while BetBoom triumphed at Fissure Universe: Episode 4 in March.

  • Tundra Esports
