Blast confirm Dota 2 event in Singapore after sellout success for Counter-Strike last year

Blast Dota Slam Singapore 2025

Esports is set to return to Singapore in 2025 after Blast confirmed that there will be a Blast Dota Slam Singapore event in November 2025.

The tournament will take place between November 4th-9th at the Singapore Indoor Stadium, following the success of last year’s sellout Blast Premier World Final for Counter-Strike.

The world’s best Dota teams will meet in Singapore to compete for a $1m (£750,000) prize pool. The event is organised by esports entertainment company Blast, in partnership with the Singapore Tourism Board (STB) and AEG Presents Asia.

James Woollard, Director of Market Development at Blast, said: “Singapore delivered one of the most passionate esports crowds we’ve ever seen during last year’s Blast Premier World Final.

“We’re thrilled to be returning with our next major arena show – this time for Dota 2 – and to once again partner with the Singapore Tourism Board and AEG Presents Asia to help further grow Southeast Asia’s esports ecosystem.

“The response to our events in Singapore has been incredible, and this November’s Dota Slam promises to be another landmark moment for fans and for the region.”

Triumph of the 2024 Blast Premier World Final

The Blast Premier World Final 2024 marked the company’s Southeast Asia debut and was a resounding success, drawing over 10,000 passionate fans to the Resorts World Convention Centre.

The sold-out event featured top Counter-Strike teams competing for a $1m (£750,000) prize pool, showcasing Singapore’s ability to host major esports tournaments.

This triumph set a high benchmark and laid a strong foundation for Blast’s return with the Blast Dota Slam Singapore event.

Blast’s global expansion ahead of Dota Slam Singapore event

The Blast Dota Slam Singapore is part of the company’s expansion into Dota 2 and its global event calendar.

This year, Blast will also hold events in cities including London; Austin, Texas; Lyon, France; and Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

Blast recently announced the opening of an office in New York City as part of its expansion in North America.

A statement from Blast said its return to Singapore will “shine a light” on the city while delivering economic benefits and “meaningful destination marketing.”

The $1m prize pool on offer is similar to that announced for the new Global Domination: Invasion, Counter-Strike 2 tournament, announced today by the Ultimate Gaming Championships (UGC) and Global Domination Events (GDE).
