“For the last two years, we set out to do something different and special,” the LinkedIn post read. “We created a space where people could be themselves, be treated with respect, have fun with others with similar goals, and showcase their talents.”

Caledonia Esports hosted monthly tournaments across multiple titles, including Rocket League, League of Legends, Apex Legends, Overwatch 2, and Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege.

These events welcomed a range of participants, from professional players to students eager to compete at weekends. The organisation emphasised the joy of running these tournaments and the invaluable support from the community that made them possible.

“Nothing could have been done without the likes of people like yourself who are reading this post and believing in us,” the post continued, thanking the community for enabling these events. “We hope our tournaments have been enjoyable, as we have thoroughly enjoyed running them behind the scenes.”

Caledonia Esports confirmed all operations, including teams and tournaments, will cease, expressing gratitude to players, staff, and directors.

Caledonia Esports made strides in showcasing talent across Europe at competitive levels. In 2024, it was revealed to Esports News UK by founder and owner Jay Muir, that the organisation had secured a copyright for Scottish College Esports, a pioneering initiative where colleges in Scotland could compete against one another.

Another person commented: “These guys were always the best when it came to giving people opportunities. I wish everyone the best of luck with the future.”
