Big changes are coming to Valorant. The Riot Games title will celebrate its five-year anniversary in June and the publishers want to celebrate by giving the community some of their most requested features.
Valorant players will be able to celebrate the festivities by buying presents for their friends as gifting in-game items will finally be possible with the launch of Act 3. Riot also confirmed that a replay function is actively being developed for Valorant but that feature will release later this year.
As of Patch 10.08, you will be able to send in-game presents to your Valorant friends. Initially, gifting is going to be limited to only Featured Bundles or individual items within these bundles. However, Riot have confirmed this will be expanded to items outside of the Featured Store in future updates.
There are also a couple of other small restrictions on the new gifting centre. Both the gifter and the recipient must be unbanned for the gifting to go through and the two players need to have been in-game friends for at least a week. Additionally, the account of the player sending the gift must be at least level 15.
A player can only send up to five gifts per day and the recipient has up to 60 days to accept and claim the gift. If the gift is rejected or unclaimed after this time period, the gifter will have their money refunded.
Gifting is also limited to the region/game shard that the gifter is playing in. So for example, a player on the Europe (EU) game shard won’t be able to send a gift to a friend who plays on the Latin America (LATAM) shard.
