First-person tactical shooter Valorant is finally getting a mobile version and pre-registration is already open, but only for one country.
To the disappointment of many, Valorant Mobile will initially only be available to players in China. It is not currently known when or even if European and North American players will be able to download the game.
The official Valorant Twitter/X account released a short statement saying: “We’re excited to bring VALORANT Mobile to as many players as possible, but we’re starting in China and taking it from there. We will of course update you as our plans develop further.”
Riot Games have developed the new game in partnership with the Tencent-owned Lightspeed Studios who also created PUBG Mobile and the Chinese version of League of Legends: Wild Rift.
A first-look gameplay trailer revealed that the game will feature customizable controls though each Agent will already be packed with individual overlays to accommodate for each unique playstyle. There will also be large, adaptive buttons which change purpose depend on the situation in order to keep gameplay smooth and fluid. For example, the jump button turns into a spin attack when the player is mid-air.
Valorant Mobile will launch with an initial cast of 16 Agents available to play, meaning there are another 11 from the full roster that didn’t make the cut. The launch mobile roster is as follows:

- Jett
- Killyjoy
- Neon
- Omen
- Phoenix
- Raze
- Reyna
- Sage
- Skye
- Sova
- Viper
- Yoru
The game will also feature two new and exclusive maps: Ancient Village and Shipyard. They will be playable at launch alongside another six maps ported over from the PC version. Those are: Ascent, Bind, Breeze, Fracture, Haven, and Split.
Pre-registration is available to players in China now, which will allow them to take part in a playtest coming “very soon.” Until then, no other details about the game have been made available.
