Legendary football player Cristiano Ronaldo has appeared in a new trailer for the upcoming fighting game FATAL FURY: City of the Wolves alongside Bosnian-Swedish DJ Salvatore Ganacci.
Both celebrities are surprise inclusions in the new fighting game’s roster. The new game is the first FATAL FURY title in 26 years, following on from the story of its predecessor, Mark of the Wolves, which was released in 1999 for the Neo Geo Arcade system and later the Sega Dreamcast.
Cristiano Ronaldo is one of the biggest sporting personalities in the world. He has over 652 million followers on Instagram and has scored over 700 goals in his illustrious career with spells at the world’s biggest football clubs, including Manchester United and Real Madrid. Meanwhile, EDM producer Ganacci has over 500,000 monthly listeners on Spotify and is well known for doing handstands on stage and funny dances during his sets, with clips of his Tomorrowland performances in 2018 and 2019 going viral.
The new trailer features Ganacci highjacking Ronaldo’s press conference by leaping over a table and challenging the winger to a fight, which then prompts the Portuguese star to flip the table in rage before both characters start fighting each other in-game.
FATAL FURY: City of the Wolves releases April 24 on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Windows, and Xbox Series X/S.
Cristiano Ronaldo’s thoughts on being in FATAL FURY
The five-time Ballon d’Or winner, who currently plays for Al Nassr in Saudi Arabia, gave a short interview on the YouTube channel of the game’s publishers SNK. SNK are owned by the Misk Foundation, which was set up in 2011 by the Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia Mohammed bin Salman.
Asked about being in a traditional fighting game for the first time Ronaldo said: “It’s great. It’s a big game so I’m happy to be a part of it. Using my football moves in a fight is exciting, very cool.”
He then added a message to his supporters: “I always want to give the fans something special, you will enjoy this. It’s a new challenge, a new level.”
This isn’t Ronaldo’s only new venture as the 4-year-old also recently announced he has partnered with filmaker Matthew Vaughn, famous for the Kingsman and Kick-Ass movies, to create an independent film studio called UR-MARV.

In my seven years of esports writing, I’ve introuduced esports coverage to newspapers, interviewed some of the biggest names in the industry, and driven viewers mad with the puns in my YouTube scripts. I’m most proud of the latter.
