Acer UK has today announced a partnership with adventurer and TV personality Ben Fogle, alongside a major initiative to tackle plastic pollution.
For every Vero laptop purchased and registered in the UK – including the Aspire Vero 16 – Acer will collaborate with Plastic Bank to remove 80kg of plastic waste from the environment. This surpasses the average annual plastic waste generated per person in the UK household (76kg), which Acer says underscores its commitment to a sustainable future.
As a bonus, customers will also receive a free set of Vero accessories worth £89.97, including a laptop case, mouse, and mouse mat, all made from recycled materials.
Ben Fogle is known for his work on outdoor-focused TV shows, like ‘Ben Fogle: New Lives in the Wild’, ‘Countryfile’ and ‘Countrywise’, and his work as a writer/author, in sports and activism.
Acer says that the Vero range, featuring the Aspire Vero 16 as its flagship model, ‘proves that sustainability doesn’t have to come at a premium’. Prices start from £599 at UK retailers such as Currys, Argos, Amazon and Very.
“The Vero range, especially the Aspire Vero 16, demonstrates that you don’t have to choose between performance and protecting our planet,” said Ben Fogle. “It’s the ideal device for the eco-conscious consumer.”
“Ben’s passion for sustainability makes him the perfect ambassador for the Vero range,” added Craig Booth, Country Manager at Acer UK. “Together, we want to inspire individuals and businesses to embrace technology that benefits both people and the planet.”
The news comes after Esports News UK recently partnered with Intel and Acer’s Predator Gaming brand for the IEM Rio Watch Party in Manchester.
