Back-to-back League of Legends NLC Division 2 regular season winners Rich Gang are looking to qualify for Division 1 this year.
The Norwegian LoL org finished top of the Div 2 Summer 2024 standings earlier this month, with ten wins and four losses in the regular season.
They are now in the grand final of the Div 2 playoffs, where they will face 42 Gaming on Friday August 23rd 2024.
Rich Gang (aka Rich Gangstas) also won the regular NLC Div 2 Spring Season earlier this year, but were defeated by BlueWhites 3-2 in the playoffs final. BlueWhites were later added to Division 1, replacing Lionscreed, meaning RichGang came very close to being in Div 1 themselves.
Now they will have another chance to reach the top division of the Northern League of Legends Championship (NLC) for teams in the UK, Ireland and Nordic countries, in the upcoming promotion series.
Envy, Rich Gang League of Legends Manager, told Esports News UK: “I want to say how proud of my team I am and how much we are gunning for promotion for Division 1.
“Since I’ve joined I’ve pushed more into the growth of the org, alongside Thoug and Touch. I’m wanting us to be a well-known name in the esports scene with a community backing to prove it.
“Our roster currently consists of many well-known names within the scene such as Mirrai (Austria), Slice (Sweden) and Kourosh (UK) but also with Kanske (Sweden) and Typical (Poland) as kind of rookies. All the guys peaked Challenger 1000lp or as close to it as possible. We wanted a mix of people even though the org is Norwegian we have players from Poland, Austria, England and Sweden.”
Envy continued: “Our main goals and ambitions as I’ve mentioned is about the growth of the org. We want to give more back to our players, we wanna be the ones that give them the exposure to reach new heights.
“All of us at Rich Gang are especially fond of the players we have, and we’ve always been set on helping our players achieve more.
“Obviously we won this split and we have the promotion series to go – we intend to win it and progress to Division 1. We have already secured second seed but we want first.”
The NLC Div 1 promotion series starts on September 9th 2024.
