UK and Australian-based Esports Integrity Commission (ESIC) has announced its Global Esports Summit (EGES) 2024 is moving away from London.
The first two annual events took place at the Excel London convention centre in 2022 and 2023, and now the esports industry conference will make its USA debut for 2024.
This year’s summit is set to run alongside DreamHack Atlanta. It will take place on October 3rd and 4th this year at the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta, Georgia.
Presented by ESL Faceit Group (EFG), the summit will be hosted in a dedicated conference venue within the Georgia World Congress Center, running concurrently with DreamHack Atlanta. All EGES attendees will gain access to the DreamHack festival, which kicks off on the second day of the summit.
ESIC said the move to Atlanta ‘underscores the growing importance of the North American market in the global esports ecosystem and ESIC’s strategic efforts to foster integrity and transparency in this dynamic and rapidly evolving industry’.
The EGES aims to allow stakeholders to discuss, debate and address pressing issues facing the sector. It will bring together industry leaders including publishers, tournament organisers, teams, media professionals and non-endemic partners.
There will be a curated agenda of keynote presentations, expert panels and collaborative workshops, covering the challenges and emerging trends within the esports landscape, with a particular emphasis on upholding and enhancing the integrity of esports competitions.
Stephen Hanna, ESIC’s Chief Executive Officer, commented:
“We are excited to bring the ESIC Global Esports Summit to the United States for the first time. As the esports industry continues to grow and evolve at an unprecedented pace, it is essential that we create spaces where industry leaders can come together to address the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead.”
Stephen Hanna, ESIC
“EGES 2024 in Atlanta will provide a vital platform for top minds in the industry to collaborate, share insights, and uphold the principles of integrity that are fundamental to the success of esports worldwide.”
David Neichel, Senior Vice President of Public & International Affairs at ESL Faceit Group (EFG), added: “We are honoured to host the ESIC Global Esports Summit together with the DreamHack Festival in the olympic city of Atlanta. Such a prestigious global event, which will also combine with the Georgia Games Week festivities, will bring an additional brick to our festival.
“And for the Global Esports Summit participants coming from all over the world, it will offer a unique immersion into the thriving esports and video games community that makes DreamHack such a unique experience.”
