Social news website Reddit has posted its Reddit Recap 2022, revealing some of the most popular threads and subreddits.
We’ve included some of the most popular Reddit content in the UK over the past year, as well as the most-read gaming content on Reddit.
Reddit has more than 100,000 active communities from around the world, and in 2022 Redditors created 430m+ posts, a year-on-year rise of 14%.
As of November 2022, the site has seen 2.5bn+ total comments, representing a year-on-year increase of 7%.
And in terms of upvotes, there were 24bn+ of them in 2022.
General data was pulled from January 1st to October 23rd 2022, while the most upvoted posts and AMAs were pulled from January 1st to November 22nd 2022. See our picks of the most popular on Reddit in 2022 below, and the Reddit Recap 2022 full list of content here.

Elden Ring named the most popular gaming subreddit in 2023
Reddit has historically been a place for gamers around the world to gather–and it remained that
way in 2022.
By the numbers:
● With 30.9 million subscribers, r/gaming is the #4 most-subscribed community on Reddit
globally
● r/eldenring became the #1 most-viewed subreddit in the category and the #8
most-viewed subreddit on the platform, while r/genshin_impact moved to the #5
most-viewed subreddit in the category (from the #1 spot last year)
● Lost Ark had a huge resurgence, with r/lostarkgame going from unranked to the #4
most-viewed subreddit in the category in 2022 (see our Reddit Recap 2021 article here, which saw r/leagueoflegends take second place)
