North London derby losers Spurs will host a Madden NFL 23 gaming event at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium this week.
Drinks brand Captain Morgan is giving NFL Football and gaming fans an immersive video game experience, as it launches its first IRL gaming experience, also helping to take Spurs fans’ minds off their latest footballing defeat.
Gamers will have the chance to show off their virtual American Football skills on a 20ft screen and pro audio sound system on Thursday October 6th 2022, with game-day food and drinks available, with Spurs fans able to drown their sorrows following their 3-1 derby defeat to Arsenal last weekend.
Created alongside the NFL, the gaming session, which includes a private two-hour NFL Football gaming IRL session on the field of the new 63,000-seater Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, can be won by gaming crews of up to four mates aged 18+. This also gives Spurs fans a chance to actually win something.
There will also be guest VIP appearances from former NFL Defensive Back and media pundit Jason Bell and ex-Pro Jack Crawford, will mean gamers not only get to battle it out virtually, but step into the screen themselves – taking part in real-time NFL Football drills, something that Spurs’ football team could do with.
“This year, as proud sponsors of the NFL, we wanted to give fans, especially those who game around it, the opportunity to really step off the sofa and into the world they love.”

With the event, Captain Morgan is giving adult gamers the chance to swap between on-screen touchdowns and off-screen plays.
In addition to the experience, winners will also receive four tickets to the 2022 NFL London Games to see the New York Giants vs Green Bay Packers – taking place a few days later, on October 9th 2022 at Tottenham Hotspur stadium.
The 2022 NFL London Games will feature three games in the UK: Minnesota Vikings vs New Orleans Saints (Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, yesterday), New York Giants vs Green Bay Packers (Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, Sunday October 9th) and Denver Broncos vs Jacksonville Jaguars (Wembley Stadium, Sunday October 30th October 2022).
Eleanor Morgan, senior brand manager at Captain Morgan, said: “This year, as proud sponsors of the NFL, we wanted to give fans, especially those who game around it, the opportunity to really step off the sofa and into the world they love. Gaming and playing with the pros on the actual field – this is giving a whole new meaning to the idea of IRL gaming.”
Entries are free and as of September 29th have now closed, but there are more details on the NFL Captain Morgan website.
