Twitter has published an update revealing the UK’s most-talked about esports organisations on the popular social media bird app this year.
For the first half of 2022, from January to the end of June, UK Twitter users tweeted about US esports giants Faze Clan the most, followed by big European rivals G2 Esports and London-headquartered Fnatic.
Other UK-based esports organisations featured in the top ten list on Twitter included Excel (in fifth place) and London Royal Ravens (in seventh place).
Optic, 100 Thieves, Cloud9, TSM and Toronto Ultra also made the cut.

Two Call of Duty League names in Ravens and Ultra show that the UK has a solid Call of Duty (CoD) fanbase, something which has been the case for years now, what with the region’s console-centric background.
Speaking of which, FIFA is another game that’s been popular specifically in the UK for many years. In fact, CoD and FIFA are the two best-selling video game franchises in the UK to date.
FIFA is the fourth most-tweeted about game in the UK of 2022 so far, with Genshin Impact (whose UK University Invitational was recently won by UCL) taking the number one spot, followed by Wordle and Elden Ring.
Final Fantasy, CoD and Fortnite followed in fifth, sixth and seventh place respectively.
Data from Twitter also showed that the UK is among the countries that tweet the most about gaming (with UK listed ninth). Japan, the US and Korea took the top three spots:
What about global Twitter data? Who are the most tweeted-about orgs and esports players around the world?

- Most tweeted-about game: Genshin Impact

- Most tweeted-about esports player: FalleN
