Well-known British streamer Dimitri ‘Greekgodx’ Antonatos has been temporarily banned from Twitch again.
This time it came about following a stream in which Greekgodx made some sexist remarks about women, but Greekgodx said he was banned for twerking on stream, not for the comments.
What did Greekgodx say in his rant?
Greekgodx said, as per this Dexerto Twitter thread: “This goes to any women who wanna date me, especially female streamers who want to date me.
“If you want to date me, you better believe that even if you’re streaming, you’re gonna have to stop streaming. Streaming is ended for you, your career is done, okay.
“I will stream while you cook for me and you clean for me and you look after the children, while I gain all the money and I give it to you and our children for a healthy, secure life. Okay?
“That’s how I want to run my life and how I want to do it. Now it’s up to you and other people in their other worlds and whatever they want to do. But my reality is I’m gonna sit here, earn all the money, you’re gonna be in the kitchen, cooking, cleaning and making sure my home is fucking clean. And I’m gonna make sure we have money so we can have a home and you have a place to sleep at night. Because it’s called working together.
“Because streaming, believe it or not, is mentally damaging to my mind. So I’m gonna damage my mind in order for our kids [to have a secure life].”
Greekgodx said he was banned from Twitch for twerking on stream, not becuase of the rants, and that he will be back on the platform in three days.
Others said he was also talking about his anti-vaccination stance on stream.
Greek later added in a stream with Asmongold: “I got banned for twerking because a girl twerked and I said she can’t twerk right, I got up and started twerking and said I could do it better than her. I was twerking away and I got banned.”
The news also comes shortly after Greekgodx announced he had left esports organisation TSM back in April.
He said: “Was a fun time with TSM but I am no longer with them. Thanks for everything and good luck. It is [now] just going to be me and the ggx gang with much more fun and content in the future. All I want to do is make people’s day a little better and have a good time doing it.”
Greekgodx joined TSM as as a streamer back in February 2020.
What Greekgodx said after his ban
The streamer followed up the news with a string of comments on Twitter including a sarcastic post on getting unbanned, reminiscent of Gross Gore’s fake apology to Livestreamfails:
What was Greekgodx banned for in the past?
Greekgodx was hit by Twitch ban following comments about gender back in September 2019.
Greekgodx said: “Anybody can go and make a Soundcloud account and wait for the options when it says ‘gender’. You will fucking omegalul. It does male, female, other and prefer to not say.
“Imagine having ‘other’ and ‘prefer to not say’. What cucks are they fucking catering to now? ‘Other?’ Fuck off. If you put ‘other’, they should say ‘sorry, Soundcloud is not for you’, goodbye’ and fucking delete you dude.”
Greekgodx apologised afterwards and said that he was joking.
He was also banned in November 2020 though the reason for that was less clear. Some have speculated it was over a DMCA/music copyright violation.
