Rogue have cemented their place in the Spring 2022 LEC Playoffs after picking up 11 wins out of 13 in the Spring Season so far.
Following their victories over Mad Lions yesterday and Team Vitality today, top-of-the-league Rogue have become the first team to reach the playoffs, showing their consistency once again in the regular league season.
The news comes after a blip for Rogue’s League of Legends team last week, which saw them lose to Astralis (who were bottom of the league at the time) and Misfits.
But they were back on form this week, and the team consisting of Odoamne, Malrang, Larssen (pictured), Comp and Trymbi locked in their playoffs spot.
Today’s game was relatively equal in the early and mid-game, with both teams having even gold and kills at around 23 minutes in, though Rogue had three drakes to Vitality’s zero. When they secured the soul and picked up a few more kills, they established a lead that was too difficult for Vitality to claw back.
Rogue support player Trymbi said after today’s win on the LEC broadcast: “We don’t really think about securing a playoffs spot, we knew we’d secure it no matter what happens. It’s nice we secured it with a win, and the win overall was nice, after the 0-2 last week.
“It was a bit weird, the way the game was played by us, it looked really messy – it wasn’t one of the cleanest games you’d be proud of. But we played solid and tried to play together as a team, which was nice to see.”

Looking at the other LEC standings, Fnatic and Misfits are joint second with nine wins and four losses, G2 are fourth with eight wins and Excel are fifth with seven wins (the UK-based side are hoping this will be the season they finally reach playoffs). Vitality are in the remaining playoffs spot in sixth, with six wins and seven losses – they will be disappointed with these results so far given the new LEC Vitality superteam has big goals.
Mad, SK, BDS and Astralis take the next places in the LEC 2022 Spring standings respectively.
