One of the greatest esports tournaments the world has seen, the Six Memevitational, is coming back for a second outing in January 2022 – and this time with a UK venue.
The Rainbow Six Siege tournament, put together by UK host/caster Derry ‘Dezachu’ Holt, UK coach/analyst Jack ‘Fresh’ Thomas Allen and Polish producer Jakub ‘Atroix’ Szmyt, offers a more lighthearted approach to Siege esports and was originally set up earlier this year following the delay of the 2021 Six Invitational (it also featured an incredible hammer trophy).
The 2022 Memevitational will take place on January 15th and 16th 2022 with a studio broadcast from the Confetti Institute of Creative Technologies, which is a part of Nottingham Trent University.
Atroix – who previously left the Staffordshire University esports degree course to work freelance and teach esports broadcast production at the Confetti Institute – said: “With Confetti’s esports broadcast production course, we value hands-on and live experience heavily over anything else. This is why we’re supporting the Memevitational and hosting it at our venue as it is another opportunity out of the many for students to jump on board and get involved in esports in different ways.”
Broadcast talent will include a star-studded UK line-up featuring Dezachu, AceOfPyrite, Fresh, Fluke, XRTROIKA and Geo.
“The broadcast will feature a casting couch over a conventional setup, bringing a new style to Siege that hasn’t been seen before,” Dezachy said. “There’ll be some fun bits and pieces for us to interact with so be ready.”
Like last year, 10 teams will rock up with top players, content creators, and casters from all around the world heading to a ping-laden battlefield to fight for glory and… not a lot else. Teams and players are to be confirmed.
The Memevitational also has some actual Siege game developers from Ubisoft on board this time – five to be precise. They will be scattered across various teams to bring the community element together.
A Memevitational ‘press release’ sent to Esports News UK by Dezachu read: “I’m personally hoping they slap a few pros about to show them who’s really boss: ‘That headshot is for that tweet 3 years ago you little shit.'”

Practice Server CEO Javier ‘MonsterDFace’ Collazo is also on board to produce a second stream, which will act as a clean feed for those who want to stream/co-stream the Memevitational themselves.
Javier said: “Here at Practice Server we’re excited to support the scene and community of R6 along with out friends at the Memevitational. Giving players and spectators the chance to participate in REAL community events like this, whether as players or spectators, are what drives us day in and day out. What better event to partner with?”
Sponsor wise, organisers are still finalising the details but expect a familiar face or two from last year to return.
Esports News UK recently interviewed UK Siege casters AceOfPyrite, Fluke and Dezachu on the Sweden Major and the upcoming 2022 Six Invitational.
