UK esports organisation Excel Esports have announced their full League of Legends esports player rosters, which will be competing in the 2022 Spring LEC and NLC respectively.

Excel’s LEC 2022 Spring roster:

Excel have kept most of their existing roster from the Summer 2021 season intact, and have brought in Swedish top-laner Finn from CLG. He replaces Kryze, who has been looking for opportunities with other teams and has not yet announced his next move.

Finn returns back home to Europe from his one-year stint in the North American LCS. Before that, he dominated the LEC with Rogue throughout 2020 coming close to a title after the team won the regular season of the Summer Split.

The full Excel 2022 LEC player roster is as follows (pictured left to right):

  • Finn ‘Finn’ Wiestål – Top Lane
  • Mark ‘Markoon’ van Woensel – Jungle
  • Erlend ‘NukeDuck’ Holm – Mid Lane
  • Patrik ‘Patrik’ Jírů – ADC
  • Henk ‘Advienne’ Reijenga – Support
  • Joey ‘YoungBuck’ Steltenpool – Head Coach

Tim Reichert, who joined Excel as their new esports director last month, said: “While doing tryouts, Finn showcased his ability to fit into our roster lineup really well. He is a player that communicates his needs and wants very strongly and that’s what we were looking for in a top laner.

“We were very keen to try and keep most of the roster intact because I saw that the players synergized very well especially after their promising short stint in the LEC Summer Split. The general consensus after tryouts was that the players enjoyed working together, and they were far from reaching their ceiling as a team.”

Excel have also signed Patrik to a two-year contract extension, and head coach YoungBuck has officially signed to Excel on a three-year contract extension as he looks to continue his mission of adding another star to his belt.

YoungBuck commented: “It’s been a major learning experience during my time at Excel and we have been hit with many highs and lows. While I know we have a lot of work to do, I’m committed in making sure that I get this team to playoffs and show everyone the potential they have.”

Earlier in the summer, Excel promoted two academy players – Markoon and Advienne – to their LEC first team.

Excel’s NLC Spring 2022 roster:

Excel officially announced their NLC Division 1 League of Legends roster line-up on January 7th 2022. The roster is as follows:

  • Felix “Kryze” Hellström – Top Lane
  • Daniel “Dan” Hockley – Jungle
  • Jang “EMENES” Min-soo – Mid Lane
  • Dominik “Zamulek” Biela – ADC
  • Mateusz “Kikis” Szkudlarek – Support
  • James “Torok” Thomsen – Head Coach

Excel welcomes a whole host of new talent to its roster.

Kikis brings a wealth of both European and international experience having played for the likes of G2 Esports, Fnatic, and Unicorns of Love as well as appearances at both the Mid-Season Invitational and the World Championship.

EMENES joins Excel from Galakticos where he showed promise in the Turkish Championship League with a third-place finish in the Summer Split.

In the ADC spot Zamulek is welcomed from Illuminar Gaming where he competed in the Ultraliga and the European Masters Summer.

In the head coach position, Torok will use his experience from working with the likes of Bifrost and Team Singularity to guide the players as they compete with high ambitions.

The NLC 2022 Spring Season will officially kick off on January 10th 2022.
