With the regular summer 2020 UK League of Legends esports seasons now finished, the UK LoL Inhouses are back to fill the void.
The Inhouses give UK players ranked Diamond and above the chance to practice during the off-season, and catch the attention of orgs that may be looking for new rosters at the same time.
Players are assigned into three tiers, as outlined in this announcement tweet:
The UK LoL Inhouses Discord server currently has more than 150 players in it, as well as casters and other members of the UK community.
UK LoL Inhouses founder and MNM team manager Alex ‘OfficerNaughty’ Bowley is one of six admins for the Inhouses.
The other five admins are: Nvision head coach CoachFireVortex, Munster LoL manager Joshua Mulgrew, Lorcan ‘Lorcz’ Elliott, Ryan ‘Rydona’ Dunkley and JorangeJam, who takes care of tracking all the stats in the Inhouses.
eViperoon and TheSargeCasts will organise the casting aspect and help to choose the different casters involved.
“This is a really good opportunity for players at all levels in the UK competitive scene – whether it’s university, UKLC/NLC or so on – to prove themselves or keep busy during the off-season.”

Admin Ryan ‘Rydona’ Dunkley told Esports News UK the UK LoL Inhouses are set up ‘to improve the team experience and competitive quality of UK players, as well as the UK’s overall quality as a region’.
“It gives players a door to get them into the scene at a lower level (tier 3) and also offers a way for higher level players to practise in the usually long off-season (tier 1),” Ryan said.
“We are splitting the Discord into 3 tiers of play in order to keep them balanced and we are aiming to run everything from regular inhouse games to more elaborate tournaments to get players familar with typical tournament formats.
“Each admin will have their own day to run inhouses and tournaments, so each day should offer something a little bit different for the players. It’s also a good opportunity for the admins as well, as we’re either managers/coaches/analysts, and the inhouses will be used to scout for upcoming names and new talent, which we can refer to later down the line in team tryouts and roster building.”
Admin Lorcan ‘Lorcz’ Elliott added that whilst players are being reassigned tiers, the format will likely start with just 2 teams in a best of 3, with potentially 4-team tournaments or round robin events later down the line.
“As a coach, watching a lot of the in houses last split gave me a really good idea of some of the players’ playstyles and communication, which will obviously help with roster building in the future.
“This is a really good opportunity for players at all levels in the UK competitive scene – whether it’s university, UKLC/NLC or so on – to prove themselves or keep busy during the off-season.”
The UK LoL Inhouses are set to begin on August 24th 2020 and can be watched via twitch.tv/uklolinhouse. Keep an eye on the UK LoL Inhouses Twitter for the latest info and developments.
