Battlefy, a popular online tournament platform, has announced that it has partnered with the German Bundesliga for the VBL International Series.

This particular competition is targeted at players in Asia and America. Battlefy are known for their international tournaments and this competition will help to maintain these relations.

This FIFA tournament is set to begin in March this year. There are going to be qualifiers that are played across 19 different countries, which will allow players from all over Asia, including Singapore, Vietnam, Cambodia, Brunei, Korea, Japan and other areas competing and representing their country and the whole Asia continent.
Competitors of Asia will be up against players across all of America, including South America, which means that there are opponents from places like Brazil, Colombia, Peru, Chile, Argentina, Mexico, Canada and the USA. The series final will be held in Germany and that is where they will all meet to play each other.
The General Manager of Business at Battlefy, Yohan Sengamalay, has said that Battlefy is happy and excited to power the VBL international series with the Bundesliga.
“The passion and pageantry of German football make it one of the most exciting leagues in the world. We could not be more excited to partner with them to bring this same excitement to esports,” Yohan said.
These partnerships are not made overnight, they take time to make and being able to announce the partnership has been a massive thing for Battlefy’s team. The fact that the German football league, Bundesliga, has got involved and partnered for the event shows how seriously they take esports and its development. They want to help the building of brands and their clubs in this industry.
Already, the VBL is one of the biggest and best competitive FIFA leagues across Europe. There are more than one VBL leagues than this international series, there’s the VBL Club Championship and the VBL Open, which act as qualifiers for playoffs to the main series finals.
It is Battlefy’s job to try and make the tournament as big as they can in terms of audience. They of course want to make it engaging to a wider audience and really make it a successful tournament.
