Brand Licensing Europe (BLE) 2019 will feature a gaming and esports activation for the first time in the event’s history.
The show – which takes place at ExCeL London from October 1st to 3rd – has partnered with PowerStation Studios for the esports section.
BLE is an annual event for licensors (brand/license owners or granters) and licensees (companies that gain the rights to create and sell products using that brand). For example, the Overwatch LEGO products are a result of a deal between Blizzard (brand owner) and LEGO (licensee).
Located in the Brands & Lifestyle Zone at BLE 2019, the gaming and esports activation will offer an ‘interactive gaming experience’ for visitors, including an AR-powered character mural and gaming timeline, ‘bringing to life beloved gaming brands and icons from the last 40 years’.
“Esports is a phenomenon that no one really forecast. The brand licensing opportunities for brands, manufacturers and retailers in the gaming sector are wide open and far from realised.”
Anna Knight, BLE
It’s designed to help educate BLE visitors on how brands can successfully turn intellectual properties from screen to shelf.

“Esports is a phenomenon that no one really forecast. The brand licensing opportunities for brands, manufacturers and retailers in the gaming sector are wide open and far from realised. This brilliant interactive feature at BLE will help to convey the potential this industry offers to the entire licensing marketplace.”
Potential exhibitors will have access to booth takeovers and the aforementioned AR-powered character mural and timeline, custom T-shirt printing, a photo opportunity area and a 3500mm x 2500mm screen showcasing exhibitors’ trailers and videos.
