The Ultimo Hombre gaming event is returning after organisers deemed the October 2017 launch event a success.
It’s an event ‘designed for gamers of all ages, sexes and backgrounds’ and will be taking place at Birmingham’s Pryzm on March 18th 2018.
Attendees will be able to play games including FIFA, Overwatch, Call of Duty, Star Wars Battlefront and other casual titles like Super Mario Kart and Pac-Man, as well as the chance to try out virtual reality experiences, RPGs and other FPS games.
While organisers haven’t yet revealed their specific esports plans for the event, there will be casual esports tournaments on hand, with prize pools ranging from £50 to £1,000 to be confirmed at a later date.
There will also be giveaways with gaming merchandise, peripherals and retail vouchers up for grabs. Leaderboards will track the top gamers in each title.
“Whether a dedicated gamer who loves to overcome a challenge or a casual newbie looking for a brilliant day out, Ultimo Hombre is the ultimate electronic playground”
Competitions run in 30-minute slots, and events are designed to be broadcast to Ultimo Hombre’s social media and YouTube channels. Each event aims to run with a live TV show format, with gamers facing off to be the last player standing.
“Whether a dedicated gamer who loves to overcome a challenge or a casual newbie looking for a brilliant day out, Ultimo Hombre is the ultimate electronic playground,” organisers said in a press release.
There are a host of areas at the show including the Main Room, Vinyl Room, retro-focused Curve room, House Room, a stage for Virtual Reality and top-line PC rig gaming plus a VR Racing Experience room which offers a high-end VR racing car.
Mark Adams’, Ultimo Hombre founder, said: “Ultimo Hombre is a unique place to come and test your gamer skills against like-minded fanatics or equally casual fans. It’s about meeting up with people who have the same interests and sharing tips and skills, playing games on mind blowing rigs, experiencing virtual reality like nowhere else and winning prizes and topping leaderboards for doing so.
“It is for people of all genders, ages and backgrounds, and is a very special experience that brings everyone together in one theatrical and escapist gamers’ paradise.”
There’s more details and ticketing info over on the Ultimo Hombre website.
