Team Dignitas, the well-known esports organisation originally founded in the UK, has entered PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds (PUBG).
The PUBG team will become the sixth squad in the Team Dignitas family which includes League of Legends, CSGO men’s and women’s, Heroes of the Storm and SMITE teams.
Based in Europe, the Team Dignitas’ PUBG team will include in-game leader Peter “suntouch” Logan from the UK (who played SMITE for Dignitas), Florian “Liquidz” Bruyere from France, Martin “spajKK” Beneš from Czech Republic and Asger “ZiphoN” Storgaard Høffner from Denmark.
PUBG is the PC game of the moment, claiming the number one spot in August’s Top 20 Games on Twitch by total hours watched with 73.8 million hours. This marks the first time League of Legends has failed to take the top spot since tracking began in October 2014.
Team Dignitas PUBG will be competing in all available major competitions including Auzom Premier League for Squads, Curse Trials for duos and seeking a spot in the $200,000 IEM Oakland Invitational, either through invite or qualifiers.
Earlier this year, a $350,000 Gamescom PUBG Invitational took place, hosted by ESL.

“We have been incredibly impressed by Bluehole Studio in their efforts to maximize the rapid growth of PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds amongst the passionate esports consumer,” said Team Dignitas CEO Jonathan Kemp.
“We are encouraged by the dynamic fan base that supports this game and believe the PUBG brand and competitive game genre aligns well with the other teams in our Team Dignitas family.
“As we cross the one-year anniversary of Team Dignitas’ acquisition by the Philadelphia 76ers, we are more confident than ever that the resources and experience provided by Harris Blitzer Sports & Entertainment will create new opportunities for our organization to grow, innovate and compete at the highest level within the esports industry.”
“It has been inspiring to watch the careers of these players develop alongside the fervent interest in PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds,” added Michael “ODEE” O’Dell, Team Dignitas President.
“I am ecstatic to have signed both players from the Team Dignitas family as well as new faces who – for their personality, work ethic and elite style of play – are sure to become Team Dignitas fan favorites.”

Along with his duo partner and incoming Team Dignitas member, Liquidz, suntouch was ranked number one in the world on several occasions. Liquidz is a former professional SMITE console player who competed at the first SMITE World Championship, taking home both third and fourth place.
Also joining the team is spajKK, who competed in the PubG GamesCom Invitational and was part of the only duo team to qualify for both the FPP and 3PP tournaments, where he eventually placed fifth.
The team is rounded out by ZiphoN, who has accumulated a number of PUBG achievements over recent months including Rank 4 EU Squads Season 3, Rank 2 Duos EU Season 4, multiple wins in PUBG Online (June, July, August, 2017) and first place in an Xpulz Tournament.
