It’s a new UK esports tournament set up in partnership with OMEN by HP, supported by Metabomb and run on a white-label basis by the guys from epic.LAN.
It’s also the first tournament under EGX’s new ‘EGX Esports’ brand, which has set up a brand new EGX Esports Twitch channel, as well as Twitter and Facebook pages.
The qualifier matches will take place at the Rezzed gaming festival at London’s Tobacco Dock, with registrations starting from 10am on a first come first served basis.
The qualifier finals are expected to take place at 4pm on Saturday.

The Overwatch Road to EGX will also include a series of online cups this summer in order for community teams to qualify for a grand final at EGX 2017, which takes place at the Birmingham NEC from September 21st to 24th.
Prize details will be announced closer to EGX; Esports News UK understands there may be some top PC gear/merch up for grabs as opposed to cash prizes.
The qualifiers are being streamed on Saturday as are some other community matches today (Friday) on the new EGX Twitch channel.
EGX is the name of the annual gaming event that takes place every September now at the Birmingham NEC. It was formerly known as the Eurogamer Expo and is run by Gamer Network, which owns Eurogamer, Outside Xbox, GamesIndustry.biz, Digital Foundry and is partnered with VG247, Rock Paper Shotgun and more.
