Fnatic League of Legends coach NicoThePico departs

Fnatic has today confirmed their League of Legends LCS squad head coach Nicholas “NicoThePico” Korsgård (left) has departed with immediate effect.
Team manager Finlay “Quaye” Stewart (right) has stepped in as the interim coach.
Nico joined Fnatic (which is technically based in London but has a LoL gaming house in Berlin) back in July 2016 as the team’s assistant coach to the then head coach Luis “Deilor” Sevilla.
With the departure of high profile Fnatic players such as Bora “Yellowstar” Kim and Fabian “Febiven” Diepstraten, Nico and his team were tasked with creating a roster for the upcoming spring split.

“And with that my journey in FNC ends, best of luck to all my friends still in FNC! Nothing but good thoughts to the staff and players”

NicoThePico sighted “challenges on the inside” as being a leading reason for him resigning from the side.
Fnatic stated that “we do believe this is in the team’s best interest”.
As we move into the final three weeks of the EU LCS , Fnatic find themselves in third place in group A.
With a key game against Giants this week Fnatic will need to push on if they have any hopes of salvaging their season.
