Brazilian CSGO pro Marcelo “coldzera” David won an eSports award at the 2016 Golden Joystick Awards, while Overwatch and StarCraft II caster Sean Plott were also recognised.
The evening of celebration for all things games took place on Friday November 18th, with 26 awards handed out on the night.
Coldzera picked up Competitive Play of the Year, for his Mirage double-jump AWP quad kill at MLG Columbus, where he was playing for Luminosity:
Elsewhere, StarCraft caster and former pro Sean Plott picked up the award for Gaming Personality of the Year, while Jesse Cox was named YouTube Upcoming Personality of the Year.
Overwatch won five awards: Best Original Game, Best Multiplayer Game, Competitive Game of the Year, PC Game of the Year and Best Gaming Moment (for ‘Play of the Game’).
Other games that picked up awards included The Witcher 3: Blood and Wine for Best Storytelling and Best Visual Design, Fallout 4 for Best Audio, Firewatch for Best Indie Game and Pokemon Go for Innovation of the Year, to name a few.
