The UK’s largest fighting game community event – Hypespotting V – will host one of the first eSports competitions for Pokkén Tournament in this country.
The official UK Premier of Pokkén Tournament will include a special invitational to be live streamed by Nintendo UK, as well as a tournament open to all players.
The new Pokémon fighting game launched in the UK yesterday (March 18th).
Hypespotting V will also host the UK qualifier for the Mortal Kombat XL Cup, including a prize pool bonus of £10,000. The winner will take home £4,500 and receive travel and accommodation expenses to take part in the European Mortal Kombat XL Cup Final at Dreamhack in Jönköping, Sweden June 18th to 21st.
The winner of the European final will secure your travel and accommodation to the Evolution Championship Series 2016 taking place in Las Vegas from July 15th to 17th.
The event – presented by Versus Scotland – will take place on April 2nd and 3rd at the Hilton Hotel in Glasgow.
Other competitions include the Capcom Pro Tour 2016 Eurozone Ranking Event for Street Fighter V, as well as a Super Smash Bros for Wii U tournament and more. Guilty Gear Xrd Revelator will also be shown off to attendees.
Hypespotting attracts some of the most well-known pro fighting game players including Problem X, Biohazard, HoneyBee, FoxyGrampa, J.Miller, Ixis, Dragonlord Z and others.

Aside from the eSports tournaments, there will be setups for casual play, sponsor stalls, live online streams and more.
Hypespotting has received the backing of a number of major sponsors including this year Nintendo, Capcom, BandaiNamco, Warner Bros., NetherRealm Studios, Twitch, CEX, PQube and more.
