The Infiltrator class in Mass Effect 3’s multiplayer mode is one of the most fun to play and a devastating damage dealer to boot.
We show you our favourite build which will see you one-shotting enemies in no time. It’s also a good time to get in on Mass Effect 3’s multiplayer as the free Resurgence Pack DLC is out on April 10th, which includes a Geth Infiltrator character.

Mass Effect 3 Infiltrator tips and tactics
This Infiltrator works best from a distance. Get into the habit of activating Tactical Cloak, aiming from cover, making a headshot, then reloading and repeating the process.
If things get heated at close range, cloak and melee attack or use a Sticky Grenade to push back your enemies and get some distance between them.
Tactical Cloak is called that for a reason. You can use it tactically as well as aggressively. For example, activate it before reviving a teammate or switching on a computer node to remain undetected.
Stay near ammo bases too. Even with the ammo capacity attachment, the Widow only has roughly 14 rounds, and this quickly runs down.
Remember – you’re a support class. Don’t go in all guns blazing. If you join a multiplayer lobby that has three other Infiltrators, or three Vanguards, be wary that you may find it difficult, especially on Silver or Gold missions. Ideally you want to be a part of a varied group with a strong leader, like a Soldier, Adept and Sentinel. The best group we played with consisted of a Krogan Soldier, Asari Adept and Asari Vanguard.
Smash through cover. The Widow is a very powerful weapon, and its bullets can pass through certain objects. You can take out two enemies at once with a well-placed headshot, if one opponent is lined up behind another. Also, don’t worry about Cerburus shield troopers. Your Widow can shoot through their shields and take them out in one go. Aim for the gap in the shield visor section for a better chance of one-shotting them.
Beware that while cloaked, your shield will not recharge. Get into cover and wait for your shield to recover before cloaking again.
You can also use Sticky Grenades to take out bigger foes like Banshees even faster.

Deep story unfolds in early going, very immersive experience. First off, I’ve been waiting for this game since the previews came out late last year (2006). So far, Bioware has done a great job of pimping out this game. And deliver it does…
I’ve never played as an Infiltrator, but the Soldier’s Adrenalin Rush has an unlisted effect of instantly reloading your gun without a reload animation so you can fire any gun longer than you normally would until you need to reload. With that, I can fire 2 rounds of a one bullet per clip Sniper Rifle in less than 1 second. Is that better than the method you mentioned?
Very helpful article. THX 🙂
I have an Infiltrator build like this but also have a build which sacrifices the grenades for cryo. With the cryo I go with a shotgun, upgrading the melee output. It totally changes the way you play as a Human Infiltrator. I do find however that the Salarian is the best class with Sniper rifles and the Geth is the best with a Shotgun.
