Solary Academy shine and Supernova Comets fly at Equal Esports Cup

British stars on Solary Academy and Supernova Comets excelled at the Equal Esports Cup (EEC) Group Stage.

Supernova Comets now tie with  Evie ‘Pivotless’ Pullen and Solary Academy for second place in their group.

Other British talents at the tournament once again struggled to find success against the likes of Supernova Comets and G2 Hel.

Supernova Comets stay in to defeat Last Minute Airlines

Last Minute Airlines with AD Carry, Scarlett ‘Naddy’ Bettison, showed promise yesterday at EEC after drawing with SK Gaming Avarosa.

However, Izzeeri with Supernova Comets dismantled Last Minute Airlines to take the series in a dominant fashion.

Top laner, Emily ‘emerrin’, opted to reveal their Riven pick to the rest of the competition.

Meanwhile, Izzeeri chose to go for Mel in the bot lane to take the first game with a +15k gold lead.

The second game was also as much of a stomp for Supernova Comets.

With a +12k gold advantage this time round, Supernova Comets were able to pick off the members of Last Minute Airlines.

The team will face SK Gaming Avarosa in their next match this evening.

Solary Academy defeats SK Gaming Avarosa

British top laner, Pivotless and her team, Solary Academy, were able to take down SK Gaming Avarosa.

The LEC-supported team held their own against Solary Academy’s long-range attacks.

However, they were no match for their strength in controlling the map and game.

The second game was yet another close game as they traded kills and objectives

In the end, it was a Baron take from Solary Academy that gave them the advantage they needed to win the series.

They’ll face a less-than-stellar Nexus Reapers in their match later today.

Day 3 of Equal Esports Cup

Meanwhile, other British players on WLG Female Stars have found themselves in a dire situation.

The team haven’t secured a single game and have found themselves joint last in their group.

With only two days left and no game wins, they’ll be unable to qualify for the Playoffs.

They now play for pride with the aim of not finishing last at this year’s EEC.

Elsewhere in their group, both G2 Hel, Vitality Rising Bees, and Zerance Bloom have continued to defeat each opponent.

G2 Hel have secured their place in the Playoffs, while Vitality Rising Bees and Zerance Bloom only need two game wins to secure their place.

Meanwhile, in the other group, Galions Pearl are on the edge to secure their place in the Playoffs.

Supernova Comets and Solary Academy are in a more precarious spot and must remain focused in the final few days.

EEC enters the final two days of the Group Stage, as matches will start from 5pm BST today.
