G2 Esports is the first team to qualify for the Valorant Champions Tour (VCT) Champions 2025.
After defeating Xi Lai Gaming, G2 have amassed enough Championship Points to guarantee their place in Paris later this year.
VCT Champions 2025 is set to take place in Paris, France, from October to November, as the best teams in the world compete for the biggest prize and title of the year.
G2 Esports press on at VCT Masters Toronto
G2 Esports came into VCT Masters Toronto as the number one seed for the Americas.
However, their surprise loss to Pacific’s Paper Rex prompted concerns about their performance at the tournament.
In the lower bracket, they faced China’s Xi Lai Gaming in a tournament survival match for both sides.
Fortunately, G2 Esports persevered to continue at VCT Masters Toronto as one of the top six teams.
Finishing in the top six has given the team enough Championship points to qualify for VCT Champions Paris towards the end of the year.
G2 Esports’ next opponent will be the loser of Wolves Esports and Gen.G Esports later today.
Gen.G Esports have continued their undefeated streak, whilst Wolves Esports have become a fierce underdog of the tournament.
VCT Masters Toronto continues
Elsewhere in VCT Masters Toronto, the British team, Fnatic, have just barely survived their first set of matches.
Having lost to Gen.G Esports, Fnatic were left in the lower bracket, where they went up against Pacific’s first seed, Rex Regum Qeon.
Eventually, Fnatic were able to emerge on top to stay within VCT Masters Toronto as the last EMEA representative.
Meanwhile, the British football team-owned organisation, Wolves Esports, has continued their Cinderella run throughout the tournament.
Having previously defeated Rex Regum Qeon, the team is now up against the undefeated Gen.G Esports who have dominated the competition so far.
Finally, Pacific’s darlings, Paper Rex, are up against Sentinels in the Upper Bracket Semifinals.
The team have caused upset after upset, defeating the likes of Team Heretics, Team Liquid, and G2 Esports to make it this far.
VCT Champions 2025 Paris
VCT Champions 2025 Paris is set to take place from September 12th to October 5th, in Paris, France.
The event will kick off at the Les Arènes de Grand Paris Sud and conclude at the Accor Arena.
The top sixteen teams from across the world will compete for the ultimate title.
