Call of Duty season 4

Call of Duty rolled out season 4 over the weekend, but the launch was met with heavy criticism across the board after a disastrous update.

Players struggled with the servers going down constantly after the release and the addition of unwanted ads has also raised immediate concerns.

Call of Duty servers crash during Season 4 launch

The highly anticipated Call of Duty: Warzone Season 4 update officially rolled out at the end of May, but it came with plenty of contraversy.

Not only did the Warzone servers struggle, with Black Ops 6 also seeing downtime during a busy period for the game.

Game developers were forced to take to social media shortly following the release to announce the problems, with various features in the game being disabled.

As well as Ranked Play being disabled during the early stages of the update, custom loadouts were turned off along with the Black Ops 6 theater mode and a number of reported issues in Zombies.

Slowly over the weekend Call of Duty returned to normal and shortly after ranked play returned to the Battle Royale mode, it also went live on multiplayer.

But players continued to struggle with the servers and there was slow gameplay throughout the weekend, leading to frustrations across the board from everyone trying to play.

Developers will be hoping to have restored the game to its full version before the World Series of Warzone makes its return in June.

It wasn’t just the slow gameplay and disabled features causing outrage during the Season 4 launch as players complained about a new advertisement plastered across the menu.

Following the update, an advertisement was postered in the weapon select menu, promoting premium weapons and skins that can only be purchased in the game by using real money.
