Fnatic finalises line-up for Esports World Cup

London-based esports organisation, Fnatic, finalises its full list of squads that will compete at this year’s Esports World Cup (EWC).

The British esports organisation will send a total of eight rosters to Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, later this year to compete at the event.

The full list includes its main rosters in Apex Legends, Counter-Strike 2, League of Legends, Rainbow Six: Siege, and Valorant.

Fnatic has also announced new rosters in Teamfight Tactics and Warzone to compete at the EWC 2025.

The esports organisation is also listed to compete in Street Fighter 6 at the EWC, through qualifier tournaments leading up to the event.

The multi-game esports tournament heads into its second year with a total prize pool of $70m, or roughly £54.8m, across all of its esports tournaments.

Despite the enormous prize pool and large-scale event, the EWC has come under criticism due to its connections to the Saudi Arabian royal family and human rights record.

Given the Saudi Arabian government’s position on the LGBTQIA+ community, many fans have called out teams for participating in the EWC due to its direct links to the government.

Such was the case for Team Liquid, who faced serious fan backlash last year for participating in the EWC after promoting their support for the LGBTQIA+ community and Pride Month during the same time.
