Call of Duty has announced its next tournament, with Trials of Verdansk set to get underway at the beginning of May.

When is Call of Duty Trials of Verdansk Warzone?

The Call of Duty Trials of Verdansk tournament kicks off on May 5th, with the Grand Final held just two days later on May 7th.

120 players will be selected to play in the prestigious event, with some of the most popular content creators from all around the globe battling it out for the share of a prize pool worth £42,526.

The tournament beginning in May will be the third of its kind so far in 2025. The Verdansk map officially returned to Call of Duty in April this year and since then it has been featured in all of the tournaments.

Call of Duty will stream the event on its official Twitch account.

Warzone’s most popular battle royale map, Verdansk, returned at a crucial time for Call of Duty in terms of the esports scene, with a real lack of interest in their latest title Call of Duty: Black Ops 6.

Return of Verdansk sees viewing figures rise

The impact of Verdansk can’t be understated as viewing figures from the latest Call of Duty tournaments have taken a huge spike.

At the first Twitch Rivals event this year with the game back in Verdansk, viewing figures reached 163,013 at one point making it the most-watched Warzone esports event in 2025 so far.

There was 607,703 hours watched in total at the last Warzone event – which eclipsed any other event since the Global Finals at the World Series of Warzone in 2024.

Viewing figures are only expected to rise at the latest instalment of the Trials of Verdansk series with some of the biggest content creators in Call of Duty expected to take part.

After the upcoming trials event, the next Warzone tournament to look out for is a creator-hosted HusKerrs’ Howl event.
