Riot Games has made an announcement about Vanguard LP refunds in the latest League of Legends LoL 25.06 patch notes.
Cheaters are a problem in competitive games, and playing against one can result in defeats.
To remedy this, Riot said that ‘if [Riot anti-cheat system] Vanguard determines that any player lost a Ranked game to an active cheater, we’ll be “refunding” the LP lost as a result of that game once the cheater is suspended’.
LP, or League Points, are of course earned when winning a ranked match, or lost when losing a ranked match.
Riot said in this evening’s LoL 25.06 patch notes:
“When a refund happens, you’ll receive a notification immediately (or on your next login), telling you when the match occurred, how much LP you’ve been credited, and identifying your updated rank in beautiful, bold beaufort lettering.”
Riot Games
“We won’t be removing LP from those that inadvertently won with a cheater on their team, only restoring it to those that suffered a loss. However, any account that’s found intentionally and repeatedly queuing with cheaters, also known as “hitchhiking” or “bussing,” will be banned right alongside them.”
Feedback will also be passed to players who successfully report a cheater.
LoL patch 25.06 will drop on March 19th 2025.
The news comes after the most recent patch, LoL patch 25.05, made early game lane swapping ‘non-viable’ in pro play.
Mythic shop changes in LoL patch 25.06 notes
Elsewhere in today’s patch notes, Riot said it’s introducing a new iteration of the Mythic Shop in-game which will change how mythic skin/item rotations are done in the future.
A new version of the shop will go live on March 20th.
“Going forward, the shop will randomly select content from the list of available items for each respective category, and each category will have its own associated timer,” Riot said. “Once that timerexpires, new content will be randomly selected.”
Featured content will be manually selected and does not expire.
Bi-weekly there will be 12 randomly selected Mythic Skins, and weekly there will be eight randomly selected Chromas. Daily there will be four randomly selected Icons/Wards/Emotes.
“This will allow content to cycle quicker and give you more chances to get that one skin you’vebeen waiting for,” Riot added. “You should also see more offerings for Chromas, Icons, Wards and Emotes. Previously, you would only see 8 accessories in the shop during a patch, but now you’ll be able to see up to 56 different accessories in the same amount of time.”
