Ubisoft has announced details regarding the Rainbow Six Siege T2 (tier two) esports circuit in 2024 and 2025, for teams in Europe, including the UK.

This includes the R6 Central Combine (this summer), R6 South Breach (November) and R6 North Rainbow Rumble (January 2025), with each tournament having a €20,000 prize pool.

And then on top of this, these tournaments will see the best teams progress to a new Tier 2 Grand Final event, to be played after the Six Invitational 2025 and featuring its own €15,000 pool. This brings the overall pool to €75,000.

“Open to all European located Rainbow Six Siege gamers, creating a high-stakes environment where every match counts,” Ubisoft said in this announcement post.

“Tier 2 teams have more opportunity to flex than ever, with Blast R6 EUL rosters no longer competing in these tournaments. Official academy rosters of these teams may field one player only from their main roster at their choosing.

“This new format promises to elevate competition, ensuring that only the best of the best in Tier 2 will clash in an unforgettable showdown. This year, we’re adding an exciting twist by introducing a fourth event: the T2 Grand Finals Europe. Our goal is to crown the best T2 team in Europe.”

R6 Central Combine 2024

While there are still more details to be revealed around the South Breach, North Rainbow Rumble and T2 grand final, Ubisoft revealed more info on the R6 Central Combine 2024.

The Combine finals will take place on August 23rd 2024 at the Xperion Cologne venue during Gamescom.

The number of participating teams has dropped from 24 to 16, there will be four phases, and as mentioned, the tournament will have a €20,000 prize pool.

The qualifiers are changing, with teams collecting points to reach phase two (a Division Clash with four groups of four teams).

“After playing against every team once, the current first place of each division will meet the 4th ranked team of the other division within their conference, while the 2nd placed team meets the opposing third. These matches are called cross-divisionals,” Ubisoft said.

“The teams will then continue another round of matches within their division, creating a new ranking. Once completed, they will play another cross-divisional match against the teams that then sit on the defined ranks, with the current first of Division A meeting the current fourth of Division B and so on.

“After two rounds, the team with the fewest points per Division gets eliminated, qualifying a total of 12 Teams for Phase 3 – The Conference Clash!”

Phase three will see 12 teams split into two conferences, with each team playing against every team from the other conference once. The top six teams will then reach the playoffs, with the top two receiving a free win.

Last year, the R6 Central Combine 2023 was won by UK esports organisation MNM Gaming, who entered administration earlier this year.

Teams can sign up to the R6 Central Combine 2024 here, and qualifiers open to community casting (via the R6 Central Combine Discord server).
