Riot Games has today revealed the League of Legends LoL Quickplay release date in the 13.22 patch notes.
Quickplay is a new queue that will replace Blind Pick, aiming to get League of Legends players into games faster, directly from the lobby, while ‘reducing collissions, toxicity and complexity’.
There is no champion select in Quickplay, with players instead choosing their primary and secondary champions and positions, along with spells and loadouts.
On Blind Pick, Riot said: “Asking players to negotiate a functional team comp with strangers, against the clock, and with limited communication tools, is a recipe for friction.
“We want you to feel like this Quickplay queue is a fast and easy way to enjoy Summoners Rift gameplay, without the extra pre-game time. So if you only have time for one game, you can queue up with confidence knowing that when the queue pops, it’s game on.”
When is the LoL Quickplay Release Date?
Riot said in today’s patch notes that Quickplay will be released to live, region by region, in patch 13.22.
This patch arrives on November 8th 2023, with timings varying per region, meaning that date is the specific LoL Quickplay Release Date.
LoL Quickplay free champs and known bugs
In order to make sure players who own a limited number of champions have access to Quickplay, new-player-specific free to play champion rotation has been expanded to Diana, Jinx, Malphite, Mordekaiser, Rammus,Yuumi, Sona, Teemo, Tristana, Vi, Caitlyn, Kai’Sa, Syndra, Leona, Sett, Pantheon, Ziggs, Talon, Amumu andViktor.
Players can select Smite starting from Summoner Level 3, while Quickplay first surrender will be available at 10 minutes and successful with 4/5 of the players agreeing, and Quickplay surrender at 20 minutes will be successful with 3/5 of the players agreeing.
In terms of known bugs, purchasing a chroma in the Quickplay lobby consecutively may temporarily lock out chroma purchaseability, and Chroma preferences do not save when swapping to a different skin.
Heartsteel LoL skins release date
The new League of Legends boyband, known as Heartsteel, will also get their skins released in patch 13.22 on November 8th 2023.
The following Heartsteel skins and chromas will be released in this patch:
- Kayn
- K’Sante
- Ezreal
- Sett
- Aphelios
- Yone (including a Prestige Heartsteel skin)
A Breakout True Damage Ekko skin will also hit live servers.
