League of Legends players who attain the highest in-game honour level will be rewarded with a new skin and recall VFX (visual effect).

Honor is a system in LoL where players can be awarded one of three commendations from their teammates after a match – ‘stayed cool’, ‘great shotcalling’ and ‘GG <3’.

The more honour a player receives, the higher the honour ranks they climb, unlocking keys, chests, capsules and temporary loading screen flairs.

At the highest rank (Honor 5), players can receive a token to unlock Medieval Twitch or Grey Warwick skins and chromas.

Now, Riot Games announced in a new dev post today, titled ‘making behavioural systems matter more’, that a new skin and recall VFX are on the way.

And in this post, Riot revealed the Three Honors Malzahar skin for 2022.

“We’re upping the rewards with a new special recall VFX for players who are Honor 5 or have received an Honor from either a non-premade or two premades in their last game. We’re also working hard on an exclusive skin just for players who reach Honor 5 as part of the End of Season rewards.”

“This year, we’re upping the rewards with a new special recall VFX for players who are Honor 5 or have received an Honor from either a non-premade or two premades in their last game,” said TimTamMonster, Riot’s new product lead for behavioral systems. “Similar to the special Challenger recall, you’ll now have the opportunity to sport a special new Honor recall.

“We’re also working hard on an exclusive skin just for players who reach Honor 5 as part of the End of Season rewards. These exclusive rewards will give you a new way to show off in-game, in addition to existing Honor skins, chromas and other rewards.”

Update (May 16th 2022): The recall VFX has been revealed:

Riot also revealed that 5% of players are ‘consistently disruptive’, while ‘95% are regular players who get tilted every once in a while, and these players make up 86% of our reports’.

“In other words, almost all reports are on the average player who usually behaves well,” Riot added.

The company said that after releasing Honor 2.0 in 2018, it has “failed to update it over the past few years and it’s fallen short of your expectations”.

Riot also promised an update to champ select reports and better detection of verbal abuse.
