When you are living with an esports fan and looking to celebrate a particular occasion, you know that something connected to their hobby would make a great gift but may not be sure what to buy. Here are some ideas that anyone interested in esports would be happy to receive.

Watch the European Masters

Europe is now one of the best League of Legends regions with a growing number of talented young gamers, making this a must-watch. From April 6th to 9th the play-ins take place.

The group stage is from April 13th to May 2nd, the quarterfinals will take place on May 4th and 5th, the semifinals on May 9th and finals on May 10th.

Gift a gaming hamper of their favourite snacks and drinks to enjoy throughout the tournament. Or, gift a promise that on the days of the competition you will take on their chores so they can fully enjoy the sport.

You may want symbolic anniversary gifts as a lasting memento of your anniversary to go with your virtual gift. This could be a piece of home décor or some jewellery.

Games

Games are of course, always a great gift for an esports fan. Popular League of Legends game mode One For All is returning in 2020. The five-against-five mode takes place on Summoner’s Rift, and this time all champions on each team are the same, being five Blitzcranks, five Heimerdingers or five Yuumis, which means the possibilities are endless. You could duo with them or buy them a game.

Maybe gift a co-op game that you can both play. If you are new to gaming with your significant other, you could try Overcooked or Overcooked 2, great little multiplayer games with players cooperating in a restaurant kitchen to complete orders, whilst dealing with the chaos of conveyor belts, flickering lights, floors that break apart and more.

Twitch subscription

If you don’t already have Twitch, a subscription will make a great gift with its many user-friendly options for both viewers and streamers. From Amazon, it is easy to use on desktop, mobile, browser and set-top boxes.

Consider an upgrade to a Twitch Turbo subscription for ad-free viewing across Twitch’s many channels that feature games by genre, including Fortnite, Overwatch, PUBG etc. This is the place to be if you want to stream video game content. It’s easy to use and has enough flexibility to be used by hobbyists and professionals.

Gaming merchandise

Gaming merchandise is always popular. T-shirts, hoodies, bobbleheads, action figures, keychains, posters, arts, USB chargers, backpacks, coffee holders and more – there are many things that are inspired by popular games.

For something really special when celebrating a decade together, you could gift a limited edition 10th anniversary giclee art print of Jhin or Ashe. Alternatively, search for a collector’s item, like The Art of League of Legends: Volume 1 collector’s edition in a slipcase.

Gaming Peripherals

Improve the gaming experience with an upgrade on computer peripherals such as keyboards, mice, speakers, headphones or perhaps a new monitor.

Monitor

A monitor is an extravagant gift, though bigger doesn’t always mean better. Select a decent refresh rate, 144Hz is a good recommended rate currently. FreeSync and G-Sync will synchronise framerate with refresh rate, so the picture looks smooth.

Keyboard

A mechanical keyboard made for gaming can have LED lights and more responsive keys to make for a better gaming experience. These keyboards are made to be durable and have performance features like ABS or metal construction. You can have a 6-Key Rollover (or higher) for anti-ghosting, and switches rated for 10+ million keystrokes.

Mouse

Gaming mice are specifically designed to offer the best experience and control when gaming. The best mouse will depend on the genre of games played, with many catering to FPS (first-person shooter) games, but there are also mice that have more buttons and macros designed for RTS (real-time strategy) games, MOBA (Multiplayer Online Battle Arena) games and MMO (massively multiplayer online) games.
