ESL UK has quietly scrapped its Overwatch Premiership spring split 2017.
It may be returning for a summer split however, with the organiser saying Blizzard has some kind of plans for the UK in the future.
ESL made the announcement around the CSGO and League of Legends UK/Ire qualifiers, and understandably didn’t make a big shout about the news.
In a brief post, ESL said in a statement: “It is regrettable that we have to announce the cancellation of the Overwatch Premiership in our Spring Season of 2017.
“However, we know that Blizzard has big plans for Overwatch in the UK and we’re really looking forward to what the future holds.”
