Thursday night saw eight players contest for four remaining slots in the summer 2016 ESL UK Hearthstone Premiership.
Here are the final standings of the promotion tournament.
As you can see the first round would prove prophetic as the winner of each match up would go on to be promoted. There was an impressive performance from both Jambre and Osha, both of whom didn’t lose a set.
Out of those promoted, Torpedo’s Raven dropped the most games with two close matches against Pesty and JammyJMG.
You can see what it meant to the caster/player after this winning move:

From those who missed out on promotion, JammyJMG looked the strongest, taking both Raven and Team Dignitas’ Greensheep to five games.
Perhaps the most surprising result of the night was the under-performance of Ness, the winner of the Insomnia Truesilver Championship II. Considered by many to be a shoe-in, Ness had an unsuccessful night losing to Osha 3-0 and JammyJMG 3-1.
The games were not on stream so the viewers did not see the cause of the losses, but Ness tweeted about it after to shed some light:

The 4 players promoted will join BoarControl, Mysterious, HelloLeeroy and Cipher in the group stages of the summer 2016 ESL UK Hearthstone Premiership. These eight players will duke it out over the next two months until the playoffs on November 12th and 13th.
Games are streamed every Thursday 7pm BST over on the ESL Hearthstone Twitch channel.
