League of Legends Patch 25.24 adds WASD and Dr Mundo nerfs

Riot Games has released the final update for League of Legends in 2025 with Patch 25.24.

Then Riot will release the 2026 season update for League of Legends with 7th items for ADCs and Atakhan removed.

Before then, LoL is seeing a lot of champion nerfs and the highly anticipated/feared release of WASD controls.

WASD controls for LoL is coming to live servers

League of Legends is finally getting WASD controls, using those keys to move like a d-pad instead of click and move.

Community reactions to WASD in LoL have been extreme, as the major change potentially makes ADCs broken.

Kiting with WASD is much easier and less skilful, as players can aim with their mouse and move with the other hand.

With Patch 25.24, WASD controls will be available in most unranked game modes across all regions, only normal draft is missing.

WASD will be available in:

  • Customs
  • Swiftplay
  • ARAM
  • Arena
  • ARAM: Mayhem
  • ARURF

Riot is anticipating that this beta version of WASD will cause large bugs and large gameplay issues.

As a result, the publishers warn that they may disable certain queues or champions “in case of a degraded player experience.”

To start with, WASD controls will already be unavailable on Briar and Taliyah.

New features will be released along with WASD controls including the ability to remap your WASD keybindings.

Dynamic Camera is a new camera option follows your mouse with adjustable speed settings.

And the new ‘Scout Ahead Button’ will allow players to hold middle mouse click to move their camera while in Dynamic Camera.

Releasing the button will have the camera snap back to your champion.

LoL Season 3 Ranked ending soon

The League of Legends 2025 Ranked Season is coming to an end.

The Summoner’s Rift Ranked Season for Season 3, 2025, will end January 1st, 2026, at 23:59:59 according to your local server time.

Similar to previous years, ranked queues will be disabled for 12 hours in preparation for Season 1, 2026 to start. which will begin on Janaury 8th.

At that point, LP and ranks will reset for the new year.

LoL Patch 25.24 champion buffs

Braum

As Braum is fairly weak right now, Riot is buffing the tank support’s durability early on and are increasing his damage in extended fights.

Base Stats

Base Health: 610 -> 630

Passive – Concussive Blows

Damage On Follow-up Attacks: 20% -> 40%

Nasus

Riot is also making Nasus more durable in lane plus, they’re buffing his Q to make last hitting and stacking a bit easier.

Base Stats

Base Health: 631 -> 650

Q – Siphoning Strike

Base Damage: 35 / 55 / 75 / 95 / 115 -> 40 / 60 / 80 / 100 / 120

Sejuani

Riot states that Sejuani is one of the weaker champions in LoL currently, so they’re buffing her cooldowns and making AP Sejuani more viable in the top lane.

Q – Arctic Assault

Cooldown: 19 / 17.5 / 16 / 14.5 / 13 -> 18 / 16.5 / 15 / 13.5 / 12 seconds

Mana Cost: 70 / 75 / 80 / 85 / 90 -> 60 / 65 / 70 / 75 /80

AP Ratio: 60% -> 75%

W – Winter’s Wrath

Mana Cost: 65 -> 60

First Hit AP Ratio: 20% -> 30%

E – Permafrost

AP Ratio: 60% -> 70%

R – Glacial Prison

Cooldown: 130 / 110 / 90 -> 120 / 105 / 90 seconds

Swain

Swain was buffed in League of Legends Patch 25.23 but it wasn’t enough. So, Riot is upgrading his passive to get more people to play him.

Passive – Ravenous Flock

Heal per Fragment: 3-6% (based on level) -> 6%

Viktor

Riot is buffing Viktor by increasing the shield on his Q to help him trade with opponents.

Q – Siphon Power

Shield: 40-115 (based on level) (+18% AP) -> 40-140 (based on level) (+25% AP)

Bugfix: Fixed a bug that caused Viktor bot’s shield to calculate incorrectly.

Bugfix: Fixed a bug that caused Q’s tooltip AP ratio to be inaccurate.

LoL Patch 25.24 champion nerfs

Dr. Mundo

Riot admits to over-buffing Dr Mundo. They’re happy with his strength in the top lane but want to weaken the tank in the jungle.

Q – Infected Bonesaw

Monster Damage Cap: 350 / 425 / 500 / 575 / 650 ->  300 / 375 / 450 / 525 / 600

Kayn

Shadow Assassin Kayn is specifically getting nerfed with reductions to his damage, which usually comes from poke using his W.

Passive – The Darkin Scythe

Bonus Post-Mitigation Magic Damage: 25-45% -> 20-40%

Kha’Zix

Riot says Kha’Zix is one of the strongest junglers at the moment. They don’t want to hurt his ability to assassinate targets, so instead are slowing his jungle clear. 

W – Void Spike

Base Damage: 85 / 115 / 145 / 175 / 205 -> 75 / 105 / 135 / 165 / 195

Master Yi

 Riot is bringing down Master Yi’s durability and damage, split between the early and late game as they’re happy with his overall combat and game pacing.

Base Stats

Base Health: 655 -> 640

Attack Damage Growth: 2.8 -> 2.5

Mel

While Mel’s numbers are fine, she is one of the most frustrating champions to face.

This nerf is aimed at allowing Mel mains to still succeed while making her harder to play for more inexperienced players.

Riot has long-term plans, aimed for early next year, with significant changes to make her stronger again while becoming fairer to play against.

E – Solar Snare

Orb Magic Damage: 60 / 105 / 150 / 195 / 240 -> 60 / 100 / 140 / 180 / 220

Magic Damage per Second: 16 / 32 / 48 / 64 / 80 -> 16 / 26 / 36 / 46 / 56

Lingering Debuff Duration: 0.75 -> 0.5 seconds

Mana Cost: 50 / 55 / 60 / 65 / 70 -> 50 / 60 / 70 / 80 / 90 mana

Zaahen

These nerfs went out as a micropatch during 25.23, but Riot wants to reiterate their thoughts on Zaahen’s overpowered release.

His damage was a bit high with room to nerf it while keeping Zaaheen satisfying, so Riot targeted that instead of other parts of his kit but ackolwdges after nerfs may be needed.

Bonus AD per Stack: 1.5-3.3 (based on level) -> 1.5-2.8 (based on level)

Q – The Darkin Glaive

AD Ratio: 30 / 40 / 50 / 60 / 70% bonus AD -> 20 / 30 / 40 / 50 / 60% bonus AD

Second Cast Base Damage: 30 / 60 / 90 / 120 / 150 -> 25 / 50 / 75 / 100 / 125

Zed

Riot previously experimented with making more champions viable in the jungle and Zed proved to be too strong with a very fast clear.

Ivern will now likely have the fastest clear, as Zed’s ability to invade or skirmish after rushing to level 4 was much too strong.

Riot’s previous buff to the Legend: Bloodline wasn’t enough, so it’s getting buffed again.

Radiant Virtue

Health per Tick: 2.5 -> 3%

Twilight’s Edge

Bonus Attack Damage and Ability Power: 20% -> 25%

Twin Mask

Solo Stats: 15% -> 20%

Double Stats: 30% -> 35%

Reality Fracture

Cooldown: 15 -> 12 seconds

Decapitator

Move Speed: 6% -> 8%

Demon King’s Crown

Percentage Amp Gained on Round Win: 1% -> 1.2%

Stattikk Shiv

Bounce AP Ratio: 45% -> 25%

ARAM Mayhem updates

Riot is adding some Prismatic Augments from Arena into ARAM Mayhem, with some limited to one player per game to avoid visual chaos.

Ultimate Awakening has also been reworked, and two new items from Arena have been added to support some unique playstyles.

New Augments

Earthwake

Dashing or blinking causes you to leave behind a trail that detonates after a short delay, dealing 70 – 210 (based on level) (+ 125% bonus AD) (+ 60% AP) physical damage per explosion to enemies hit. Enemies can only be affected once every 0.5 seconds from all cast instances.

Deal 70% damage to minions

Limited to 2 players per game

Orbital Laser

Replace your Non-flash summoner with Orbital Laser

On Activation, call upon an orbital laser to fire down on the target location after 2.5 seconds, immediately dealing true damage equal to 25% of the target’s maximum health, then up to a total of 360 – 600 (based on level) magic damage over 3 seconds

Deal 70% damage to minions

Limit to 1 player per game

Trueshot Prodigy

Damaging enemies over 700 units away casts an Ezreal R in their direction. The barrage deals 100 – 350(+ 80% bonus AD) (+ 60% AP) magic damage to enemies it passes through 

Cooldown: 15s overall, not per target cooldown

Limited to 1 player per game

Cerberus

Gain the Hail of Blades and Press the Attack Keystone Runes.

Hail of Blades – Your first 3 Attacks have massively increased Attack Speed (140% for melee, 80% for ranged).

Press the Attack – Hitting 3 Attacks against the same enemy deals a burst of damage (120-360 based on level) and increases your damage until you leave combat (15%).

Pandora’s Box

Transmute all of your augments into random Prismatic augments.

Stackosaurus Rex

When you gain permanent stacks of an ability, gain 75% more.

Ultimate Awakening (reworked)

Gain 30 ability haste on your ultimate. After casting your ultimate, reset all your basic ability cooldowns and gain 300 ability haste on basic abilities for 15s. (20s cooldown)

Passive – Spell Vamp: Gain 10% Spell Vamp.

Active – Lightning Bolt (60s Cooldown): Shock a target enemy champion, dealing 175-253 (+30%AP) magic damage and slowing them by 25% for 1.5 seconds.

Passive – Effervescence: Gain 1.2% Attack Speed for every 1% Heal & Shield Power you have.

Passive – Peppermint: On-hit: Heal the lowest-health nearby ally champion for 15-40 (+10%bAD) (+7%AP) (Prioritises allies with lower current health.)

Augment Buffs

Empyrean Promise

Cast Range: 1600 -> 2000

Feel the Burn

Cast Range: 600 -> 800

Changed the cast from target cast to self cast so you no longer need to select a target to cast the spell.

Upgrade Zhonya

Zhonya’s Cooldown: 90 -> 45 seconds

Snowball Upgrade

Base Slow Amount: 40% -> 50%

Base Damage: 100 -> 200

Slow and Steady

1% Attack Speed Conversion: 0.75 AD -> 1 AD

Systems

Bonus crit chance above 100% grants 75% of that crit chance as Adaptive force if you don’t already have a crit conversion.

Bloom hexgate selection radius reduced to match size of object to reduce accidental clicks.
