2XKO has officially left early access, marking the full release of the 2v2 fighting game. Following the PC-only early access, the game is now available on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.
The launch sees League of Legends favourite, Caitlyn, being added to the game, who is available as a free unlock as part of a limited-time event.
With the launch, the game formally enters Season 1, marking a significant moment for 2XKO’s esport.
2XKO 2026 Competitive Series
While 2XKO esports occurred in late 2025, Season 1 marks the starting point for 2XKO’s competitive structure, the 2026 Competitive Series.
The circuit follows the Riot’s First Impact programme, which saw it support 2XKO tournaments in established Fighting Games Community events while the game was in early access.
Events that were part of that programme included Evo France, DreamHack, R.I.S.C., and dozens of others.
Riot has chosen to continue that integration with existing events in its circuit, with Frosty Faustings, Evo, and Evo Japan being the first hosts of 2XKO Majors.
Frosty Fausting XVIII will host the first of the three, from January 29 to February 1 in Lombard, Illinois, in America.
The open event will feature a $50,000 prize pool, with First Place taking home $20,000.
Several notable members of the Fighting Games Community have already signed up for the 2XKO event, including Jo’siah ‘Hikari’ Miller, Dominique ‘SonicFox’ McLean, and William ‘Leffen’ Hjelte.
All three have been highly engaged in 2XKO’s formative esports tournaments, which included Leffen’s DreamHack Atlanta Grand Final victory over SonicFox.
Riot has also announced three “Challenger Tier” events for 2XKO, taking place at viennality XL, Texas Showdown 2026, and Genesis X3.
