Fortnite Winterfest is back! The seasonal Fortnite event is the gift that keeps on giving for its player base, and Epic Games has finally confirmed its launch date.
When will Fortnite Winterfest 2025 launch around the world, and what will be included in the celebration this year?
When is Fortnite Winterfest 2025? Release times by region:
Fortnite fans have patiently (or impatiently, in some cases) awaited news about 2025’s Winterfest since the game’s most recent Kim Kardashian Fortnite skin drop. Thanks to Fortnite’s latest announcement, we now have an official start date.
Fortnite Winterfest arrives on December 18th, as per Fortnite’s recent social media announcement.

It is expected that the Winterfest update will arrive in a similar way to previous updates. Therefore, the following release times are unconfirmed at the time of publishing, but are considered the most likely schedule:
- North America (PT) 04:00
- North America (ET) 07:00
- Brazil (BRT) 09:00
- United Kingdom (GMT) 12:00
- Europe (CET) 13:00
- Japan (JST) 21:00
- Australia (AEST) 22:00
Winterfest has been an annual in-game celebration since Chapter 2: Season 1, back in 2019. Although we do not yet have an official length or end date for Fortnite Winterfest 2025, it will likely extend into the first few days of January, as previous iterations have.

The Cabin returns, while the BR map receives a wintery makeover
Fortnite’s Winterfest Cabin will return for Winterfest 2025, complete with its iconic gift unwrapping seen in last year’s edition. The Winterfest Cabin should give players the opportunity to score free winter or Christmas Fortnite skins.

Players received their first glimpse of 2025’s Cabin in Fortnite’s event trailer titled “It’s (almost) the most Winterful time of the year…”. It contains several clues pointing to in-game cosmetics available through the gift-opening mechanism.
Most notably, the trailer shows Hogwarts House-themed Christmas stockings above a roaring fireplace.

This detail seemingly confirms previous rumours of a free Harry Potter-themed cosmetic being available in daily gift unwrapping.
Even if a free Harry Potter cosmetic does not materialise, the official collaboration between Epic Games and the franchise has already been confirmed (with some degree of accompanying controversy), so items will also be available in the Fortnite shop.
Meanwhile, other aspects of the game will receive winter-themed facelifts.

The main Battle Royale Map is expecting a significant snowstorm, covering at least the entire North side of the Island – possibly the whole map, according to some leaks.
According to some leaks, the Holiday Present item should also be back for the festive season.
As usual, this map update will also include new POIs to explore.
Fortnite Winterfest 2025 skins
Of course, no festive Fortnite event is complete without new Fortnite skins.
Fortnite Winterfest 2025 is no exception.

Although Fortnite has yet to officially confirm all of the upcoming skin releases, several leaks and rumours point to exciting in-game additions.
Leading up to the event, Fortnite has already reintroduced the Frozen Gear Bundle for the first time in five years. Players will be able to gear up with winter-themed items for 1,000 V-Bucks.

The Harry Potter collaboration will also arrive in the game soon, but many details are still unconfirmed. However, rumours state that a Harry Potter-themed mythic item will appear in Battle Royale game modes alongside classic cosmetic drops.
Fortnite Winterfest is also expected to re-engage with some of the most popular skins from their 2025 music collaborations.
Winter Hatsune Miku and Sabrina Carpenter skins are expected to land in the game.
