Riot Games has seemingly added a cheeky Easter Egg into League of Legends (LoL) for British streamer Marc ‘Caedrel’ Lamont.
The most recent patch saw the Winter Rift snow map return to LoL for the first time in seven years.
The brand new version of the map is full of small details, including numerous Easter eggs for LoL fans to find.
Some eagle-eyed fans have spotted a small rat which appears on the map at the start of the game underneath a small crown.
Many believe that this is a reference to Caedrel, who is often referred to as ‘the rat king’ as the creator of Los Ratones.
Caedrel’s Twitch chat would regularly use the ‘xdd’ emote, which is a laughing rat, and Caedrel began jokingly calling his community rats.
That was the inspiration for the name Los Ratones, Caedrel’s team, which had an amazing 2025 with three NLC titles and two EMEA Masters trophies.
Los Ratones will now play in the LEC Versus next year after receiving an invite from Riot Games for their strong performances.
I'm going through the Winter Map to find all the easter eggs and I'm 90% sure that's @Caedrel pic.twitter.com/dJb0t9dlCg

What especially solidifies the idea that this rat king is a reference to Caedrel is the location of the Easter egg.
The rat spawns just over the wall from the blue side Raptors camp, which is the location of Caedrel’s infamous Malzahar incident.
During his second-ever game in the EU LCS as a pro, Caedrel embarrassingly cancelled Malzahar’s ultimate after flashing over the wall.
The moment has haunted Caedrel ever since, with his former LEC broadcast colleagues regularly referencing the moment.
Funnily enough, that Malzahar moment happened in 2018, the same year that the Winter Rift last appeared in LoL.
Other Easter eggs in the 2025 LoL Winter Rift
As mentioned earlier, Riot has packed the new version of the LoL Winter Rift with little Easter eggs and references.
For starters, there are loads of gingerbread cookies all over the map in the shapes of various champions, including Bard, Gragas, and Senna.
There is also a Lillie cookie with sunglasses, which is a reference to another content creator, ‘Dumbs’.
just a lil homage to Lillia’s number one fan 🙂↕️

The new map also features snowmen in the shape of champions, including Nautilus and there is another snowman referencing YouTuber Nunyo ‘Necrit’ Necrit.
Additionally, there are wards scattered around the Dragon pit, with one wearing a pair of glasses.
Wait the glasses are so cute thats awesome https://t.co/RCood6yYry

This is an Easter egg for former pro player William ‘scarra’ Li, who is now a content creator with OfflineTV and Disguised.
Like Caedrel’s Easter egg, this is a reference to an embarrassing pro play moment where scarra repeatedly failed a ward trick on that part of the map.
